Don't get me a present man. That means I have to get you one, and then we might as well just bought what we gave each other for ourselves. :P

If its Alpha Protocol that depends :)

I need to give Witcher Enhanced Edition a whirl. I finished the first game three fucking times - and then the Enhanced version came out and I was all Witchered out. But now I want a refresher with the setting before the sequel. And Geralt is Dreamy.

I feel like playing it again on hard. I wonder how I will do without the visual cues to help me with the sword combos. :)

But Alpha Protocol has Steven Heck, one of the best characters ever.

Seriously? The dude was fucking annoying. I kept wishing I'd never made the rendezvous with him and he'd just die. Especially when he magically showed up on my mission and decided that he wanted to be in an action movie despite my urging to keep it subtle.
A scientist once gave a public lecture on astronomy. He described how the Earth orbits around the sun and how the sun, in turn, orbits around the centre of a vast collection of stars called our galaxy.

At the end of the lecture, a little old lady at the back of the room got up and said: 'What you have told us is rubbish. The world is really a flat plate supported on the back of a giant tortoise.

The scientist gave a superior smile before replying, 'What is the tortoise standing on?'

'You're very clever, young man, very clever,' said the old lady. 'But it's turtles all the way down.'

Characters do their own thing = characters are bad?

Vympel, you know Witcher EE is the exact same game, right? Are you just OCD?

Forcing me to take the annoying character on a mission when I didn't want him to come along = bad
The character the game forced me to take doing annoying things on the mission = bad

How dare game developers put your characters in situations they don't always have control over.

How dare people find characters annoying and wish they weren't there.

Man I'd be pretty pissed if they forced me on a mission with Jar Jar and he kept tripping over alarms and shit too.

He has to maintain his credibility as a crybaby somehow.

Its ironic because fat nerds insisting on being able to game every situation is why most mass-market RPGs are bland rubbish.

Yeah I know its the same game, but it has better dialog and other enhancements like more than 3 character models and additional animations and stuff. I want to play it as it was meant to be, at least once, before the sequel :) (Enhanced is free for people who bought the original version, I've already implemented it, I just haven't played it)

And yes, I am OCD. I play all decent RPGs a bajillion times. No matter what it is. I just ... like them.

The 'better' dialog is just re-recorded; its spotty and I prefer much of the original stuff. 'As intended' is just crap.

And sorry, saying you play 'all' 'decent' 'RPGs' a lot is obviously not the case given your massive Bioware library. 8)

He said he played all decent RPGs a bajillion times, not that he only played decent RPG's a bajillion times. Don't be hating just because Mass Effect 2 was way better than Alpha Protocol.

For you to know it wasn't as intended, you'd have to know how to speak Polish. :) The dialog for the foreign language versions was apparently much more involved, so they changed the English to match it. Though it was disconcerting hearing some of the new dialog, purely because I was used to the old voice actors. Of course, its been a while now, so that issue should be moot.

Bah. Don't be hating on Bioware just because they do well with their much-more-highly-polished-and-significantly-less-buggy-than-Alpha-Protocol-games :)

Except ME2 gives you even less choice than Alpha Protocol and Bethesda's idea of morality is still hilariously black and white?

Uh, no. The quality of the new VA is spotty and the casting is bit rubbish; just turn subs on if you want the 'more involved' dialog. Its just wankery anyway, it really isn't that much different.

You mean 'shit' games? :) At least DA2 is going to steal all AP's good ideas?

And a further US$25 on the main two items on my "wanna get" list. The ArmA 2 expansion and DLC, both half priced. Given how much time I've poured into ArmA (it's one of my go to games for a bit of fun) this is a safe investment.

I'm very tempted to. I just want to wrap Fable II (and I've only got the final missions and DLC for that left) and then I'll have that a few others to trade towards it.

Though I'm torn as to whether I want to get Hot Pursuit or wait for TDU2...
