I also agree with the article.

There are several storylines from the series that yeild good villians.

Seyla, the blond Romulan
The Parasites that tried to take over starfleet (remeber that transmission)
The Shelliak (pretty pissed at picard I imagine)
ect.

Then there are plenty from the other series,
The Gorn
The Tholians
The Orions

or god forbit the create something original
"Nobody ever inferred from the multiple infirmities of Windows that Bill Gates was infinitely benevolent, omniscient, and able to fix everything. " Argument against god's perfection.

Who here would have liked Sela Yar to be the enemy? How about bringing up mentions of some of the Enterprises past actions against the Romulans? What about a connection to DS9 with a mention of the Section 31 plot that placed a Federation operative as the leader of the Romulan Tal Shiar?

There is so much that could have been done to the movie to tie it in with past TNG and even DS9 episodes. Hell, they could keep Skippy in the movie and use him as a sub plot. Remove B-4 and have it Lore having had his parts stolen.
All those ideas would surely have helped make Nemesis a better film, but a lot of people are just tired of Trek. It probably wouldn't have helped much at the box office.
