Um, I'm not exactly that hyped for this movie. With the amount of blockbusters coming out this summer I'll have no problem skipping this if the reviews/word of mouth suck. Seriously, the moon landing was a cover for another mission? That's literally the dumbest thing I've ever heard.
Dumber than 'all technology is based on a giant robot, which is hidden under Hoover Dam, and which we never bothered to remove the legs from to prevent escape'?
The space race being cover for something else is a common element in science fiction, so I doubt it'll be the worst part of the plot to Transformers 3.
1) It was awfully nice of that spaceship to crash in one of the easiest to land areas of the Moon.
2) If you were going to use an Apollo flight to go digging for alien hardware why the hell would it be the first landing? Aside from the fact that its your first time walking, you have the least potential scientific return. Unless the premise here is EVERY Apollo flight was to scavenge for alien hardware.

Three seconds in we see the Apollo CSM shooting towards the moon. Where is the LEM?

The US actually did fairly little recon prior to the manned moon landing in favor of speed, unlike the USSR which had numerous orbiters and several rovers. So its not out of reason that NASA could simply not notice the wreck of an alien spacecraft for a while.

At least glory shots of the moon landing are of an achievement that's actually worth glorifying, rather than pointless military worship.
