All that aside, I still think that it's a well made trailer. It puts a new spin on the series and even if it's just an intro sequence to the film itself, it's still pretty damn cool.

Unless it goes totally awesome and this is in fact a prequel.

If we could have them and not stupid spike, his stupid parents, and his stupid roommate, that would be an improvement. They were the only relatable characters in the first two films, human or robot.

But no, I hear stupid roommate is back.

I watched this with a friend and he didn't even pick up it was Transformers related until the activating transformer is show- he completely missed the all the corpses littered about the place they look so much like tangled messes of crap.

It looks too much like Alpha Trion to be Alpha Trion. It's probably Laserbeak.

I know it's the fanboy in me but it pisses me off to see a franchise changed for no good reason. In Bay's case it's like he altered it specifically to piss off fans.

I always thought that if you're too annoyed by the focus on the soldiers, you should also think of it as a crossover with GI Joe.

If you just pretend they're all Joes (there are characters that are close enough to each of the soldiers in the TF movies), it actually works.

That focus is also tied into the US military being so willing to hand over hardware like the F-22 for filming. Since you know, we don't let the Army commission its own films propaganda anymore.

The astronauts didn't either, so that's probably intentional.

Which makes this a plot point I didn't pick up on some time before the cast, a rarity in films these days.
