What would you do with Alien 3 and Resurrection?

The first comic and by extension the novelization of it were...okay. Not great, just OK.

I did like the concept of using an all-android crew to do research in alien infested areas, placing no humans at risk.

But the ideas got dumb pretty fast in both the comic and book series; almost like Kevin J Anderson was writing them.

Well, the guy that wrote them also wrote the Shadows of the Empire novel for SW. Although the "giant elephant man ex machina" part was a bit corny, I liked the stories of the first two novels.

I kinda liked Aliens: Apocalypse - The Destroying Angels, if only because it gave us a beautifully rendered glimpse of a space jockey colony world without totally raping their mystique. It also made the aliens and the SJs billions of years old, which I liked.

I don't think it's possible to explore the origins of anything while maintaining mystique

Hopefully Scott won't mangle the franchise too badly. Also, I don't know if the rumours about Natalie Portman are a pro or con...
