So include more than one set of main characters, pilots and marines, and try to achieve a roughly equal number of episodes where they get centre-stage. Incidentally, I seem to recall hearing that a couple of Members of Parliament served in Iraq with the Territorial Army, so civilian politicians serving as soldiers isn't completely ridiculous either.
