Ghetto edit - Bah, everything I see says L.A. Noire will be "SPRING 2011" (my left nut it will)

I'll give 3 to 1 odds it's going to be like Alan Wake; a bunch of ZOMGZREVOLUTIONARY <GAMEPLAY><GRAPHICS><MECHANICS><PHYSICS><STORYTELLING> promises with zero delivery on them (Heavy Rain says helllllooooooooo)

Hell, I'll give 5 to 1 it gets pushed to holiday or later!

All I'm really looking forward to are Mass Effect 3, Old Republic and Diablo 3. Tentatively hoping for the re-release of Hellgate: London, as it's producers have said that while they intend to realse it in the US at some point, no date has been set.

Despite the super awkward real world interactions and disturbing glitches. I liked Heavy Rain. Jason. Jason! JASON!!!

Wow, I just tried to google an example of a Heavy Rain glitch and all that came was nude pics of Madison. Hmmm. Okay then.

You mean Gears of the Club? We'll all rent it because there's nothing else out around then.

And man for reals, Hellgate: London? I mean it was terrible but it was no worse than other Diablo-em-ups. If they fixed the UI and made the tutorial not useless it'd be fun on console.

Maybe make the ruined parts of london not-identical?

if they made the combat more like blands, it would probably be more fun too

Yes, Hellgate London. T3 bought out Fragship and snagged the IP. They reworked a lot, and re-released it in Korea under the name "Hellgate Resurrection." It's apparently done fairly well, too. Even followed it up with the expansion that was planned by Roper, Hellgate: Tokyo.

From what I've read, it's a vastly better game now, which is why I'm tentatively looking forward to it. For all HGLs flaws, I really did enjoy the massive melees and sprinting corridor fights I had with my blademaster.

Yeah, the combat and maps were ok, it was just the UI, terrible map, and poor flow that killed it. It'd be interesting if Korea kept it alive long enough to be polished. :)

Korea liking a game should never be taken as an indication of quality.

Chardok wrote:Well, here we are. Another year in gaming down, a new one arrived. Last year at this time, we were all drooling for Mass Effect 2 and this year we've got...Dead Space 2. Meh. 2010 was an awesome year for us gamers, slamming us with amazing experiences all year long. A steady pounding of "Whoa!" After "JEEZ!" after "WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?!". Barely a month went by before we were smacked in the face with a new, awesome game. the outlook for 2011 is decidedly more traditional in the release schedule (That is, a fairly dry first half, with holidays stacked with amazingness)

So my question is, aside from ME3 (which will be, I'm sure, universally SQUEEEEEEEEEE'd), what games are you most looking forward to this year and why?

For me it's - very little. I'm excited for ME3, and even then only because I want to see how my story will end (also, there is 10% chance it will actually release on time). Maybe I'm overlooking some random obscure game that's coming out which I forgot about but this year is looking very poo when it comes to new releases.

The only releases I'm mildly excited about are:

Warriors: Legends of Troy (Hey, it's KOEI, so I'm there.)
Rage - The Hype machine has got me looking forward to this one
Elder Scrolls Skyrim - I'd be more excited about this one, except that I know i KNOW there is exactly 0% chance it will actually release on schedule.
It just dawned on me that the premise for this thread wasn't even true, there are plenty of games coming out Q1.

Bulletstorm
Crysis 2
Killzone 3
Dragon Age 2
Motherfucking Marvel vs. Motherfucking Capcom 3
Little Big Planet 2
Pokemon: Black & White
And I think one of you is a fan of the Yakuza series, Yakuza 4 comes out in March.

Unless I'm just a dumbass that's oblivious to the fact that all of these games are simply rentals for all of you.

What are you babbling about? He's asking what games people are interested in, not asking what games are coming out in general.

Right, and if someone is looking for games to cause outbursts of amazement at a regular basis, a list of games is useless because 95% of everything is shit.

And seriously, Marvel vs Capcom? What is it, 1996?
