Listen up everyone!

If anyone knows anything about Ghost Rider's whereabouts, post here. Mike has been getting emails asking after him from his family and friends, since he has apparently gone missing after the New Year and there's reason to believe everything might not be well.

The situation so far is that his last board activity was on December 31st, after which he took a trip to New York City. He has not been in touch with is family or friends since January 1st. As of this writing, according to the information we have from a close friend of his, the NYC police are involved and his luggage and cell phone have been found in the hotel when the hotel checked him out.

If anyone knows anything about his current whereabouts and status, now is the time to let us know. If you do know anything, please post in this thread or send a PM to me, Lagmonster, Shep, Thanas, SCrawl or any of the other active mods, preferably several.

Might it be prudent to put a picture of him up or at least supply a description in case anyone on the board who is in the NY area and may not otherwise not know him happens to see him? I realize there are privacy issues and many people on the board stay anonymous for various reasons, but if this as truly as serious as it sounds, well... Or at least direct people to where more information can be found, if it's not desirable to post personal description info here directly.

If someone would make a simple html "missing person" page along with a photo it would help. My two cousins live in NYC and they are party goers who meet a lot of people and generally hang around the city so they could probably help.

I'm not sure if any of my members know him, but Enigma put a thread up about him too at ASVS. I'm going to put up an announcement as well. I'll also see if I can get one of the DJs on Subspace Radio (Star Trek Online radio station) to mention it as well.

There are a couple of chapters of the fraternity I was part of in NYC, I'd be glad to pass the word to keep an eye out for him but I'd need some sort of a description of him or a photo for them to work off of. I don't know if they'll find him but it couldn't hurt.

Hello Everyone,

My Name is Dave and I'd first like to thank everyone with the help they've provided so far in helping me find my very good friend, Dennis aka Ghost Rider. It's refreshing to see such an outpouring of people willing to help.

I'm the person that initially notified this board about Ghost Rider's disappearance. I've known Dennis for a very long time and the origin of why he choose "Ghost Rider", and I "Nomad" comes from an old story that happen in High School that probably only the two of us think is funny. The thought that something bad has happened to him is almost more than I can bare.

I've created this account when I saw some people asking for a recent picture. As soon as I get a recent good picture (and figure out how to post it) I'll make it available. (Oh I see i have to get it hosted first... Okay might be quicker if I email it to folks.) Feel Free PM here with an email address and I'll send you the pic. (Will also try to get one posted.) Also thought it might be a better way to stay in touch with you all here as I know he spent a lot of time on this board.

I'm currently in D's room going through his stuff trying to find some clue as to who he might have been seeing in NYC for the big 2011. According to his Mother he was seeing two friend's by the names of John and Ron in New York City for the big 2011 thing in Times Square.

If you are John or Ron, or know who they might be,or know possibly anything about where Dennis may be, please, please, let me know.

According to a recent update the last time he was seen was on a security camera getting into a cab at about 5pm on the 2nd

Sorry for this very trying time. I can't imagine how hard it must be.

Until you get a photo up, maybe you could provide his height, weight, hair color and the like? Perhaps what he was last seen wearing. A physical description isn't as good as a photo, but it's a start.

Ghostie was approx 6ft2, with brunette hair and dark eyes. He was heavy-built but fit, with tanned-looking skin, even in winter when I met him. Still looking for Pics from that trip.

I'm sorry to say this, but I do not think there is a point in looking for "Ron" and "John" here. I've did my share of board member meets, and it's very hard to meet up with people you barely know in person without knowing exactly where they are. So, the last thing I would have left behind in my hotel room is my cellphone. Moreover, there are several prominent members living in the NYC area, including an admin. If he had been going up here to meet them, surely someone would have heard something. I don't think he was meeting board members.

But, of course, if you're reading thing, and he was going to meet you, please correct me.

I saw it over on New Testingstan, just because there are a lot less thread on the page, but I usually don't pay attention to the top of the page just because it doesn't change that often. It's the only way for a thread to be seen in every forum, unfortunately, without having to create separate individual threads for each forum. But then, you will have to look at each of them in turn to see all the responses.

Odds are that he was getting into a medallion cab, which usually means that there's not much information that can be taken from that other than 'he got into a cab'.

Let's hope for the best though.

Just to answer a few random questions I see in the thread.


Yes the police have been contacted. His mother had to go up to NYC to do it, but it has been done and we have a detective assigned to the case. She's supposed to call me sometime today in fact.

The video quality on the security footage was not good enough to be able to pick up the cab number of the taxi.

I too am beginning to wonder about this Ron and John, but at am a loss as to where else I should look.

I hope he will be found. I met Dennis a couple years back when he visited NYC then and he was a pretty cool guy.

Yea, I know all taxis are suppose to take a picture of the passenger but apparently they are not sent to a central database which is unfortunate. Really have to hope notices are posted to the cab drivers and the guy who took him on remembers him.

This is a pic from that meet up back in Dec '03, which while old, gives a bit of his facial profile. Dennis is third from the front on the right.


I've got to look to see if I still have the drive with the original image so I can isolate a clearer shot of him.

It's a good thought, but given the fact that the authorities apparently have his cell phone -- according to a post, it was left in his hotel room with his luggage -- such an effort would be of questionable value. But who knows: it's possible that one of his most recent phone calls from that cell phone could generate a lead.

Yes, At least they should be able to get the contact info for the people he was meeting there and (if we're lucky) perhaps even pics of them if he has any on his phone, which is a good start.

Just a quick update everyone.

I've been told that the police did find out that he had used his credit card on the 3rd for a charge of $9.99. So that's some what good news.
