Okay, let's say that the OP article is correct. I find with OP articles responding posters often get hung-up on one issue and ignore other aspects of the article.
So everyone is arguing about the psychologist.
But what about what the correct response to a claim of a hidden camera is? The easiest way, the logical way to deal with this, as a first option, would be for them to check the claim that there was a hidden camera, by physically checking her room.
I also notice that she had an off-campus landlord, so maybe she should have reported this matter first to the police or also to them.
Complain about hidden cameras and you might get committed.

In the United States, they are obligated to report it without a subpoena, simply by definition, in addition to their discretionary ability to commit people temporarily.Aaron wrote:Well their obligated to report homicidal/suicidal intent, child abuse and cooperate if subpoenaed by the court but their powers are quite limited.

Her first report was to campus security, which often include regular cops. Unfortunately it seems to have ballooned from there and the specific details are open to debate.B5B7 wrote:Okay, let's say that the OP article is correct. I apologize, I think you misunderstand me. Here they are obligated to report as well without a subpoena but that basically means "if they can't talk you out of it."The Duchess of Zeon wrote:In the United States, they are obligated to report it without a subpoena, simply by definition, in addition to their discretionary ability to commit people temporarily.Aaron wrote:Well their obligated to report homicidal/suicidal intent, child abuse and cooperate if subpoenaed by the court but their powers are quite limited.
