US and PRC are not mortal enemies like NK and SK. The general intelligence of the Chinese people combined with the general wealth of the American people is a very nice thing.

It'd be nice if we helped China's space program a bit, tho I'm still confident that even without help we'll be speaking Mandarin on Mars not English.

Damn, but a friend of mine in physics last year had to do his research project in a lab full of chinese expats, and he ended up having to memorise the entire periodic table in chinese!

And I don't even want to think of organic chemistry terminology in chinese. The thought of that makes my head hurt.

And about the Chinese government, most of the chinese just brush their government off as just being the latest Dynasty, this one being a little wierder than the last few. For the larger part, they are chinese long before they are ever any part of whatever Dynasty is around. The usual attitude is "oh it's the Communists" yawn-look elsewhere and try to look busy.

communists aint as bad as imperials actually. but they aint better, its just a different type of bad. one its non elected the other its elected. bad is bad no matter how it got there. atleast commie china can have permanent reform, it just takes a while.
