The song you heard b4 your breakup

Post by Next of Kin »

I was driving home from work earlier this week before my gf broke up with me and the last song I remember in the car was Sean Paul's "Get busy". I'm not a hip-hop fan by any stretch but I'm drawn to this song amazingly. Do any of you folks have a certain song in your head that you assoiciate with a breakup?

I could be sentimental and say
The Eagles - Best of my Love
Or I could be flippant and say
Metallica - Aint my Bitch
Or I could be cruel and say
Manowar - Hail and Kill

Or I could be truthful and say
Metallica - Unforgiven 2.

You're just obsessing over the breakup because it's fresh in your mind.

True, but I also find the song to be catchy! :)

usually something soft with saddened undertones...

Like Nothing else matters, Either the Metallica or Apocalyptica version...both would do..

The few breakups I have had I made sure I was not listening to any music.

Of course, that might change in the future...

Shimmer, by Fuel, from the album Sunburn

She calls me from the cold
Just when I was low, feeling short of stable
And all that she intends
And all she keeps inside, isn't on the label
She says she's ashamed
And can she take me for awhile
And can I be a friend, we'll forget the past
But maybe I'm not able
And I break at the bend

We're here and now, but will we ever be again
'Cause I have found
All that shimmers in this world is sure to fade
Away again

She dreams a champagne dream
Strawberry surprise, pink linen and white paper
Lavender and cream
Fields of butterflies, reality escapes her
She says that love is for fools who fall behind
And I'm somewhere in between
I never really know
A killer from a savior
'Til I break at the bend

We're here and now, but will we ever be again
'Cause I have found
All that shimmers in this world is sure to fade
Away again

It's too far away for me to hold
It's too far away...
Guess I'll let it go

No, but here's my advice: stay away from the radio after a breakup. You'll just end up tuning into the "All Love Song" station. All love songs, all the time. Nothing but "stick your head in the oven and turn the gas on full" love songs. You need to avoid that kind of shit, or else you'll just end up parked in the garage with the door closed, windows open and engine running while breathing in the brown wind of doom.

Look for something stupid to listen to. Not good music, stupid music. You'll be a lot happier.
