As I was not born in the USA, maybe I have a unique perspective on all this. I love this country. To the degree that I would give my life for it if push came to shove. That same love that tore at my heart on 9/11, is every day under siege by stupid fuckwits in high places. Stupid laws, injustice, and a fucking bunch of fundies in the government weigh my heart tremendously. But I have witnessed first hand all the good and the things that are just right with America (BTW something else that pisses me off... WTF happened to Canada and Mexico? and Brazil and Argentina? Did they just jump ship and moved to Europe?)

Anyways, just my 0.02. And Canucks are OK, eh? To Mexico and down you are all gringos anyways :D

[EDIT: It is "eh", not "hey"]

DAMMIT!!! You're kidding, right?

This means I've got to call the white house and get them to take Toronto off of Bush's Shit List. Ummmm, you wouldn't happen to be a Republican Party donor, would you? That would help speed things along....

Despote whatever jokes or tales get told around creepy campfires by creepy folks, I never once felt that Canadians disliked America or Americans. Or, for that matter, Europeans as well. Even many Arabs I met thought America was nice and I enjoyed talking with them; it's usually our government that gets people's hackles up...
Something about Libertarianism always bothered me. Then one day, I realized what it was:
Libertarian philosophy can be boiled down to the phrase, "Work Will Make You Free."

In Libertarianism, there is no Government, so the Bosses are free to exploit the Workers.
In Communism, there is no Government, so the Workers are free to exploit the Bosses.
So in Libertarianism, man exploits man, but in Communism, its the other way around!

Heck if there's ever trouble there are always tried and true jingoistic slogans to put some fun in the conflict, for example:

"Surrender pronto or we'll bomb Toronto."

That's a relief. I was going to cancel my summer trip to Toronto and go someplace safer for Americans, like Tiajuana or Kabul.

Canadians should be grateful. After all, America chose not to force the British out of Canada and make them the 51st state back in the mid-19th century.

FEAR the Beavers!!! And it was three times? I thought it was only two, during the American Revolution and the War of 1812.

They were our beavers to begin with; you just kidnapped them for your twisted experiments and underestimated their nationalistic loyalty.

Or so they easily lead you to believe. In fact the animals are American stock, trained to infiltrate Canada. More now prepare to save there Swedish brothers, also being crushed under crippling environmental and socialist polices that hamper rapid deforestation, riving damming and canal construction.

certain military applications, the guidance system goes awry and the block crushes the American Midwest instead*
However a second bug within the INS placed the American Midwest as being within what was acutally Canada, resulting in a near perfect impact.

Yes, this is what they told us you tried to do. However, they quickly discovered that life in the Canadian deforestation- er, lumber business is actually quite lucrative, and have become loyal Canadian citizens.

However the blessing became a curse, as taxes where raised to 220% to pay for the reconstruction by the ignorant of fiscal reality Canadian government.

The majority of intelligent Americans do as well. Unfortunately, it seems America has a slightly more lemming-like mentality than the rest of the world. The majority of Americans (not the majority of intelligent Americans) are perfectly willing to agree with almost anything the government says. All I can say is I have never voted for a Bush, even in those mock elections schools hold. I've voted Perot, Clinton, and Gore. I may not always agree with the modern liberal viewpoint, but it's not as scary as the Bush dynasty.

And all I have to say about the Canada issue is that we Floridians may not understand y'all, but we'll still welcome you to Disney :D  :D . I hate that place. Now if only the moron Jeb (Dubya's dumber brother  ) would try to attract more high-tech companies. The high-tech market in Orlando alone makes a third as much money as all the tourism in the state...but "we don't need to diversify."

Clearly, the answer to the killer beavers is to jam all Canadian airwaves with pornography starring Capt. Janeway, and paint nudes of Janeway all over the front of our armored vehicles as well.

I think we've tried that like 3 times, and each time we got our ass kicked.
There were two official invasions. We tried once during the Revolution, got all the way to Quebec, and then the invasion petered out because we couldn't assault the city, winter set in, and the volunteers decided they didn't feel like hanging around anymore. During the peace negotiations of 1783, the British were ready to give up what was then called the Nipissing Country, the region of Ontario between Lakes Erie, Ontario, and Huron--the metropolitan and industrial heartland of modern Canada. However, in a convoluted series of backstabbings and bunglings, the Americans managed to lose it.

In 1812, William Henry Harrison led an army into Canada and beat the Redcoats silly (during this invasion, they burned York, for which Washington would be burned in retaliation in 1814). However, after the 90 day enlistments of his volunteers expired, they all went home, leaving Harrison and his staff to garrison the country. Another opportunity blown (considering how badly the entire War of 1812 was conducted, it's a miracle Canada didn't end up conquering us).

The best chance we had was in 1865. The Union Army was the largest, best equipped, best trained, and most experienced in the world, and had it accepted into its ranks the surviving Confederate officer corps and Confederate army, it would have been even more formidable. The British and Canadians were both terrified the victorious Grand Army of the Republic would turn north, having nothing better to do. The Army was, in fact, sent south to kick the French out of Mexico, and Napoleon III promptly evacuated the French army when the Americans showed up on the Rio Grande. The French puppet emperor Maximillian I was dragged out of the palace and killed. As has always been the American way, though, most of the army, ended up being sent home. Had the Union lost, it might have gone differently, especially if the Union was forced into a peace settlement by the British.
