I'd be more interested in a Getter Robo crossover, if only to see the Getter Emperor eat TTGL.

See that just gets silly, and it goes back to something that bugs me a great deal about crossovers, that they often de-volve int a "vs".

After coming up with this idea, I indeed searched for "Megas/Gurren Lagann" crossovers, and found quite a few, but virtually All of them were "vs" threads, IE, coop vs Kamina. And it always hits me Why? I mean, Coop and Kamina are two sides of the same coin why pit them, or others (Getter Corp included) aginst one another when it seems so obvious that they would make an awesome Team.

I think a TTGL vs Getter Emperor match-up would be pretty much the perfect climax to a GL/GR crossover actually, even if the rest of it wasn't a vs. story. Gurren Lagann riffed on quite a few things from Getter, especially the Spiral Energy, and the Getter Emperor is pretty much the embodiment of the Spiral Nemesis concept. Maybe it's just me, but Ryouma, Hayato and Benkei joining the Gurren posse in some sort of Tengen Toppa Getter Lagann thing to battle the Getter Emperor sounds like the most badass matchup ever.

There is a fixed narrative structure for this kind of crossover. Two universes meet, a misunderstanding leads to awesome battle, and then they unite against a common threat in even more awesome battle.

In at least one possible future the Getter Emperor consumes the Andromeda galaxy. TTGL should be kind of easy to chomp on after that. TTGL isn't the only series with huge things!

That Aside in the Gurren Lagann Movie, they went even BIGGER and you get the sense that however big the Gurren Lagann needed to be, thats how big it would become.

I don't think capitalising that BIGGER was enough, given that when Super Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann shows up the Grand Zamboa (the same mecha TTGL fights at the end of the series) is just about on eye level with it's big toe.
