Bluetooth hands free

Post by Phantasee »

My father is looking for a new Bluetooth hands free earpiece. I haven't used one in ages and I imagine they have significantly improved lately. What are some good ones?

He's looking mainly for battery life, he can charge overnight but it needs to be able to run all day (12-16 hours). Something that's not too bulky, on the thin side, would be nice as well.

Your not going to get anything that can run contentiously for 12-16 hours.
The best your going to find is something like my Plantronics 855

I bought it two years ago when it was still brand new, there has been nothing on the market to top it since then in my opinion. Keep in mind nearly all bluetooth handsets feature non-replaceable battaries so over time the talk time is going to go down, for example two years ago my Plantronics was pushing over seven hours of continuous use during a 12 hour shift. That has since dropped to just over four which leads me back onto the market looking for a new headset except nothing I've seen or tested beats my 855 to date.

The 855 is also capable of going stereo with free extra earbud and for me is very hard to notice when I have it on as it's very lightweight. With all that sad it's going to cost you 80$ and not last the designated 12-16 hours of contentious use. If your talking about standby time however then yes It's going to hold a charge an entire week but continuous use seven hours. I was looking for a twelve hour Bluetooth headset myself and there is nothing on the market claiming that.

Yeah, standby time. If my dad was talking on the phone for 12 hours while driving I'd suggest he just hire a damn driver or a secretary.

Yeah, Plantronics ones are pretty good, I use an Explorer 233 and it seems to work pretty well.

Eight days of standby time and around ~8hrs of continuous use.
