The House actually passed a bill which strips the Corporation for Public Broadcasting of its funding. It died in the Senate, but is liable to turn up again in any budget bill passed by the present House.

And as somebody pointed out on NPR a few days ago, the savings from defunding NPR and CPB essentially got spent by the first wave of Tommohawks fired against regime targets in Libya.
