The Kenny Everett episode where he is turned into a milkshake and fed to a dog instead of a model is great.

Don't forget TOMMY COOPER!

Nope.

I've seen his last ever stage appearence, the one in which he died on stage, but it took the audience awhile to figure it out that he actually did die, and it wasn't a gag.

With him you could understand the confusion....he was a very funny guy.

To those of you who slapped me for my forgetfullness I thank you, I cant believe I forgot Fawtly Towers...anyways.

As for why others arent on the list...it's true, there are SOOO many good comedy shows coming out of this island that it is hard to narrow it down. Also the list was MY favorite ones...though if I could change the poll then I'd definatley add Fawlty Towers, Tommy Cooper and Not The 9 0' Clock News.

As to Mr Bean's question...Mr Bean the film I liked, but it is insuperior to the greatness of MERRY CHRISTMAS MR BEAN which I had to pause twice when I was watching it for the first time just to calm down and go on a toilet stop. Black Adder Back and Forth I remember watching at the Millenium Dome on a school trip and cheering with glee when Black Adder hit Shakespeare. That is extremely good...and who would have thought that Baldricks underwear wiped out the dinosaurs...

You people all have impecable taste! :D

As there is no choice for "The Young Ones" or "Steptoe and Son" or even "The Goons"...

I must go with Python.

I did explain this one...

Also, I'm not that big a fan of Are You Being Served, bit retro for my liking. Though admittedly the whole 'pussy' gag was good.

Nope. they just never export the tripe that is, for example, Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps

Ok, I voted for Morecombe and Wise, because I was brought up on them and they had so many comedy moments per show that are still funny today "I am hitting all the right notes... just not neccesarily in the right order!" - the look on Previns face... Priceless. :D

In order it would probably be M&W, Only Fools and Horses, Monty Python, Fawlty Towers, Blackadder, Not the 9 0'Clock news, Jasper Carrott tv Specials, Red Dwarf, Buzzcocks, Fast Show, Young Ones, Yes (Prime)Minister, Fast train, The Goons, Not only but also, TWTWTW, Have I Got News for You, Tommy Cooper Tv Specials, Drop the Dead Donkey, The Good Life, The Goodies, The Two Ronnies, Alas Smith & Jones (first few series), A bit of Fry and Laurie, Citizen Smith, Mr Bean, Time Gentlemen Please (mainly for Emma Pierson, but also for the jokes).

And as a sideline Favourite Brit Comedians (not including those mentioned above) = Billy Connelly, Eddie Izzard, Ken Dodd, Lee Evans, Bill Bailey, Phil Jupitus, Jack Dee.

But, of the ones you have, I cannot choose! Too many good ones. I'm a huge RD fan, and I love watching MP. BA is great, as is Bean. I'm going to have to abstain my vote.
Ugh, Are You Being Served? I rate that as the same as Hi-De-Hi, I never liked it to be honest.
Hi-De-Fucking bastard Hi? That's not a comedy! It's only just above Last of the Summer Wine in the list of things banned by the Geneva Convention!

Are you being Served, like arsenic, can be tolerated in small doses.

Either he means A bit of Fry and Laurie (which was a show in the same template as the Alas Smith and Jones programme) or possibly Alas Smith and Jones itself - though that didn't have Stephen Fry in it.

Oh and Bugger, I forgot to put Goodness gracious me in my list, ti should be in there probably about halfway through.

I have to admit the only one I've seen is Monty Python, but it's definitely among the best comedies I've ever seen.

And wasn't Whose Line Is It Anyway a British show first? I always liked Steve.
