Ah, but who said logic had anything to do with it? I agree, it's in the middle of the west, but it's not the Midwest.

Yes, I asked exactly that. If the only thing they do is pray, they are 100% fucked.

At least some kind of damage control measure is the least I would expect from a state governor. By a sane one at least.
His powers aren't required to tell people to pray their gods, nor they make any difference in the prayer's effectivenss.
Maybe one of the Native Americans will do it as well.
I doubt they will feel inclined to help people that since their arrival fucked them sideways in any way conceivable and locked them up in shitty places afterwards. But never say never anyway.

Actually, historically there usually are one or two Native groups who come out of the woodwork to do just that after such proclamations - it's not like this is the first time people have resorted to praying for rain in a drought.

Given the risk of prairie fires in Texas triggered by droughts, I imagine that any Native Americans in Texas would be praying for rain roughly as hard as everyone else. They may be angry about their ancestors being fucked over, but they still don't want to die in a fire.

No, Kyrgyzstan manages to be worse; Perry isn't asking for sacrificial goats.

Look you guys. Maybe he knows something we don't.

I'm not saying there's a higher power ready to shower the earth with rain at the behest of a bunch of guys praying, but maybe there's some sort of secret weather machine left over from an ancient civilization - and the acoustic primer required to activate it happens to involve the Lord's Prayer.

Hey, I'm just saying.

It's overcast today.

I may not pray but I did just find myself bitching out the sky. GIVE US SOME OF THAT WATER.

This is the guy they want to use to win over "young people?" Are they completely daft? I'd rather vote for a pile of shit than a Jesus freak social regressive.
Here's hoping that his political career goes down in flames and, hopefully, a hilarious gay sex scandal.
