Steve? :? And yes it was a British Show first, on Channel 4.

On Granada? yeah, good point, one way to find out. Warspite - Was it a collection of Skits and sketches; or single theme with Stephen Fry playing a Butler to Hugh Lauries aristocratic gentleman?

Gee, man, I don't know... I was refering to "A Bit of Fry and Laurie", just couldn't remember the name, but I don't recall those sketches.

*EDIT* --- Stroke of lightning! --- "The Royle Family". Not a big fan, but it's funny watching them sitting in the sofa watching TV.
"French and Saunders". They had a few funny, Absolutely Fabulous was much better.
"The Vicarof Dibley", with Dawn French.

I thought it was Steve...the older guy who was heavy-set, kinda balding with a fringe of grey hair, usually sat between Greg and Colin. Where the guests sit if they have one. He may have been a guest, I've only seen three or so shows with him on them.

I presume your talking about the American version here, the one with Drew Carey as the host.

The UK one had Clive Anderson as the host and they were all guests, there were no permanent members though Ryan Stiles was a recurring guest towards the end and at the beginning they had Tony Slattery, Josie Lawrence and Mike McShane on most of the shows.

Ah I see what's happened. That other one i described wasn't a Sketch, it was the premise of Jeeves and Wooster - a Programme in which Stephen Fry played Jeeves, the intelligent Butler to Hugh Lauries incompetent Bertie Wooster. It had a single series I think.

OK... 8)

The only dose of British comedy I've been exposed to has been through BBC Prime, and a local station showing several comedy series. But, I've been watching them through a lot of years!

(oh, a few more... "You rang, M'Lord?", and the two previous ones by the same people, but I forgot the names, again!
"One Foot in the Grave", also a nice one.
And the one on a radar station up in Scotland!)

I don't Believe it! I forgot One foot in the grave, oh and Father Ted, A very peculiar Practice and The Kumars as well. My memory is obviously shot, time to take up residence in the Old Peoples home.

Those would be the forgetable "oh, Mr Porter" and the painfully unfunny "Hi-De-Hi".

Are you thinking of Radio Hebrides? A skit from Naked Video (Scottish Sketch show from the makers of Rab C Nesbitt - which I also forgot from my list  )

on the theme of Scotish Shows there was also Absolutely!, which had the Stoneybridge town council and the little girl that gave really daft explainations for everything and ended them with"It's twue, it's twue!" :D

Yes, right on! I liked the "Oh, Mr. Porter" just because it had engines.

Dunno...maybe I'm getting the British episodes that were shot in America (Vegas or summat? I don't know much about television). Clive's the host, but it's Greg Proops, Colin, and Ryan Stiles on most every show. I've seen Josie Lawrence on two or three, and maybe it was Slattery I was thinking of. I'll only watch the American version because Wayne Brady's from the same town I'm from. It's not nearly as funny as the British version. They're not allowed to do as much.

All along the Watchtower ?- if memory serves it was on in the 90's and lasted about 6 episodes. The RAF men manning the Radar station don't know the Cold war has ended. The only one I can think of.

And I liked the first 2 series of Brittas, then it just got stale. :(

YES! That's it! Too bad it was short, though... (I specially liked the daugther of the pubkeeper! )

I'm not a big fan of Brittas, seen it on and off, really.

If they were hosted by Clive Anderson (short british guy with no neck, or hair :) ), then those are the ones they did in America to see if th format would work over there. I haven't seen those ones, so i don't know whoses in them. Tony Slattery isn't large or blad so it wasn't him. If he had a British Accent and was Large (as in tall) then he could be Steve Frost, better known over here from a series of Carlsberg ads (particularly the one with the Dambusters and the German goalie).
