Many, Many Tornados Hit US South - 230+ Dead, Lots of Mess

The official death toll is still around 340... but there are still 450 missing in Tuscaloosa alone, and people working to clear the mess are reporting the smell of decay. One of my acquaintances on another message board was out distributing water and other help to people in the affected areas and her group found a corpse among the wreckage of automobiles tossed by the tornado - not yet an official death, but another person missing, soon to be official.

I suspect this will exceed the 1925 Tri-State death toll and become the all-time worst outbreak in just about every way.

The other thing I find disturbing (among so many things) is that all the weather guys are saying this is linked to global warming. Warmer air has more energy, and more energy means worse storms. It would be horrible if tornadoes become more common, and also stronger. Of course, just one outbreak does not make a trend, but the US already gets about 2,000 tornadoes a year, we don't really need more, or stronger ones. The building I live in could stand up to an EF0 or EF1, probably and EF2 or 3 from the standpoint that the people inside will probably survive, but and EF4 or 5 would probably be fatal to us.
