Fear me. I've killed all of them.
Loved it.

Great episode. Funny, cool villain, neat concept and so full of continuity porn it ached without becoming obnoxiously self-referential.
I wish they'd been able to keep 'Idris' - maybe as a hologram? - because the dialog would've been golde, but I suppose the ending with the lever worked just as well.

"Did you wish really hard?" "Hello, I'm... sexy!"
That was very cool. Though all the Time Lords that got tricked into going there missed one of the messages they were sent "Contact the High Council of the Time Lords on Gallifrey" - which probably would have been wise.

Best episode in a long while, and definitely a new favourite. I could probably go on for ages about all the things I liked, but hell, you all watched the episode so you know.

Best episode this series. Not that its faced tough competition.
Still it fell back on Amy figuring stuff out for Rory. Which is about the only flaw I can think of.
Ironically the House was defeated by the safety features which work just as intended. When has that ever happened in sci-fi?

I'd just like to add that I'd take the TARDIS as the Doctor's wife over River Song any day of the freaking week. Or the weekend. Seeing those two together was miles better than the melodrama milking I've had to watch with River. And they've got a hell of a lot more history together than the Doctor and River have. Seven hundred years!

Also We now have canonically confirmation Time Lords can switch genders on regeneration. Time Lady Doctor anyone?

As for the various tips of the hat, we have two old control rooms, the existence of various secondaries, jettisoning the Tardis' mass, Artron energy, the Third's tattoo, flying a control console on its own, and the emergency message box thingy. How many have I missed?
Re: Doctor Who S32E4, "The Doctor's Wife" [spoilers]
The only thing that had me worried was the final cryptic message for the future. What was it?
"The only water in the forrest is the river" or something? Uh-oh. I don't like where that is going. Please tell me Eleven is not going to go to the Library and pull River out of the computer in order to bring her back from the dead. Please no.

Great stuff. It succeeded where The Next Doctor failed, celebrating Who's vast history without being self-indulgent. The corridor scenes between Amy and Rory were geniunely unsettling, and did I see Sontarons next week...?

That was a fantastic episode. Creepy villain and fun plot. I particularly liked the console only Tardis.

Pretty enjoyable stuff - although I've not got the background in the previous series so a lot of the nods and references passed me by. The only thing I think for this is that I think the episode could have done with being 5 minutes longer - there seemed a few lines which were clunky or rushed, and given the scene put up on Gaiman's blog, there's probably a lot of good stuff which had to go to the cutting room floor. Might have been nice to have a slightly longer episode, but that would be totally unprecedented. I don't think a 2 parter would have been necessary, but an extra 5 or 10 mins would have been great.

Oh... and poor Rory... isn't that pretend/almost death number three within four episodes? Let's have some Amy death for a change! It would have been ok in this one as it was all holograms or whatever, though I get the long term season strategy makes even a pseudo death for Amy a bit unlikely.

Ah, but was it actually holograms orl time lines which didn't come to pass? Sexy herself could clearly see the future and even alternative time lines (she told the doctor what he was going to say and then told him he didn't need to say it any more) so could the house possesing the TARDIS cause time lines to cross to cause crazy Rory?El Moose Monstero wrote:Oh... and poor Rory... isn't that pretend/almost death number three within four episodes? I liked the idea of the telepahic password being more than just thinking some words and actually being feelings, I was a bit confused by the cake but then figured out it was the 11th birthday, it actually make telepathy different from just talking.
Also there was atleast some Rory love there, the TARDIS seems to consider him the attractive one of the companion duo.

Easily one of the best NuWho episodes - funny with a good villain, plenty of self-reference and call backs without alienating any new viewers and Suranne Jones is damn sexy.
I love the idea that the TARDIS chose the Doctor as much as he chose her - stealing a Time Lord to see the universe.

Rather impressive episode but I found the running around extremely tedious. Ok, the Tardis is big so show some of the fucking rooms, not endless corridors.
Apparantly the Tardis can make rooms on demand now to custom specification so they could have done anything they liked with that AND reference it later / ditch it as required.
I'm hoping this situation leads to the Tardis being a bit more sentient in future but I highly suspect it will remain weak things.
I woefully suspect that foreshadowing shit is going to be MORE River Song related nonsense but I doubt they will bring her back from the dead unless it is to revive her / boot her out. Then convienetly side-step their future interactions as 'off-screen'.
I will echo the sentiment that I want to see Amy die rather than continue to watch Rory be used as cannon fodder to die, abuse and be used as comic relief. Honestly, forcing that shit about wanting to kill them slowly as a reason to keep them alive was just disgusting writing.
If the House had come to the conclusion: Fine go for it but I cannot believe that was the FIRST thing that came to Rory's mind let alone ANYONE's mind.
The House wants Timelords -
"Hey, we have been travelling with a Timelord. We know the lay of the land and where to go to find more Timelords. Keep us around and we will show you / help you find them"
House - "Nice try at bluffing me, I would much rather be entertained by seeing you run for your lifes. RUN !"
Nah, lets have Rory suggest the House kill them slowly... what the fuck ?

Is this the one written by Neil Gaiman?
If so, I might just watch this one.
