Military leadership? Didn't Musharaff resign to be replaced by a civillian leader?

Honestly, the civilian leadership is weak, which is why they couldn't even bring themselves to demand that the military explain why Osama was hiding in Pakistan.

And I believe Musharraf was forced to resign by elements of the military, and then there were general elections. The military still commands a lot of influence, nevermind the countless coups.

It's very frustrating for outsiders looking in. Elements within the Pakistani intelligence are still supporting the Taliban because they think the Taliban will win, and when they do, they'll be able to deny India any chance of influencing Afghanistan. So short-sighted. What would India do with Afghanistan in the first place? Do they honestly think that supporting the Taliban won't come back to bite them in the arse later? You can't always keep the dog on its leash...
