Material thermal conductivity.

Post by Ender »

I'm playing around trying to get some numbers for an SPK enery drainer, and I need the thermal condutivity for the material.

Can any one suggest
1) a suitable material to use for a spaceship hull
2) what the thermal conductivity of that material is or where I can find a listing of such materials?

Thanks

Some sort of ceramic or composite material would be best, zirconium is used on the shuttle in the form of tiles that can be replaced if damaged.

Iron.

Thanks... but what are the units there, is that watts/meter kilogram? I'm used to british thermal units/pound mass.

Watts per meter-Kelvin. Repent and forsake your evil British units. Embrace SI.
