A little poen I wrote for Remembrance Day last year, decided to post it now as it is nearly/recently Memorial Day in the Us I think. Anyway,:
Blessed are the Soldiers
Who fought with bravery
To bring an end to war
And challenge tyranny
Guardians of the nation
Protectors of Liberty
Heroes, one and all
Remember them, say we
They saw the coming storm
That bellowed out of sight
Yet still they went to war
Fought with all their might
They never once faltered
For their cause was right:
They fought in all our names
To save us from the night
Now they lie before us
Watching from the grave
We find all our inspiration
In how they were so brave
With a strength and courage
That every man should crave
Those men rest easy knowing
We enjoy what they died to save
Comments and criticism welcome.

Poem: Prayer for the Fallen
Baltar: "I don't want to miss a moment of the last Battlestar's destruction!"
Centurion: "Sir, I really think you should look at the other Battlestar."
Baltar: "What are you babbling about other...it's impossible!"
Centurion: "No. It is a Battlestar."
Corrax Entry 7:17: So you walk eternally through the shadow realms, standing against evil where all others falter. May your thirst for retribution never quench, may the blood on your sword never dry, and may we never need you again.

Nice! Although the 'liberty' bit may be disputed by people who aren't exactly fans of corporate America, I'm not going there. Nice poem!

Re: Poem: Prayer for the Fallen
I used "liberty" as a synonym for freedom that fit the rhyme scheme
Nothing to do with America. It's meant for the fallen from any nation. Really, the Memorial Day is just so I don't have to wait till November.
