Medved and Anti-War Arguments

Post by jegs2 »

Michael Medved is just plain fun to listen to, in my opinion. Yesterday, I overheard an NCO talking about how Medved carved up an opponent on his radio show that held the argument that in jist said, "War never solved anything -- we must rely on negotiation."

What follows are some of his comments. Enjoy and discuss:

VERY good arguments!

He shoots down every anti-war argument I have ever heard.

I'd say those are some pretty convincing arguments.

Don't think you'll find that anywhere, although it's easy to prove he hates Osama less than he hates the US, and as the saying goes, "The enemy of my enemy is my friend."

Ever notice everyone seems to be getting tired of arguing over this issue anymore? The hawks have their threads, the doves have theirs, and never the twain shall meet.

I fall somewhere in the middle (don't much like war; dislike the hippies even more). But I guess I'm a little tired of it.

Yeah yeah, and for every pro-war personality you can find a anti-war personality all trotting our their opinion like it held any relivance for anyone excepting their own audience. I love it how people preach to the converted and then proclaim themselfs the fount of wisdom on the matter to the acclaim of their own converts.

Michael Medved??? Isn't he the guy who claims to have been the template for Ned Flanders? "We're going to declare war against-iddly Sad-diddly-dam Hus-siddly-sein!"

Nowhere, because it's absolute bullshit- in his latest recording Osama called Saddam a socialist heathen who's blood was halal. Oh feel the love.

There has never, ever, been any connection even tentatively shown between Saddam and Al-Quada. Won't stop 60% of Americans from thinking Saddam had something to do with 9/11 tho.

I didn't answer all the ones I've heard, and I've heard some dumbones, but it did go for the most common ones. I think the only really common one I hear that wasn't answered wasn't really anti-war, but used that way:

"Bush is an idiot" Ofcourse there are variants of it, like I heard one guy say in response "Do you think Saddam has WMD?" " I think Bush does" "Well, what about Saddam" "Thats nothing I'm concerned about".

An accual anti-war arguement that wasn't included in this is more likely conspiracy theorist bullshit, and not a valid arguement. That the point of this war is to aid Israeli expansionists so they can opress other Muslims like they do the Palastinians.

Ah, yes, we must invade Iraq for Israel, despite the fact that the IDF is one of the most powerful militaries in the Middle East, if not the most powerful.

The stupidest antiwar argument I've ever heard is 'America has no right to disarm Saddam! If I were the leader of a country and someone just came in and told me I couldn't defend myself, I'd fuck them over too!'

Flanders-ifying?
Making a sentence into what Flanders from The Simpsons would say.

As in, instead of "you suck" it would "you su-diddly-uck."

The sentence is something I would say, now I'm confused.
