1 $25 Bombardment ship decoy (converted support ship)
Total $6100 out of a GDP of $61000

Aaken Modular Cruisers use 10$ modules to adopt a number of different roles, but are other wise a 40$ ship without a module. All are produced with a module. Modules explained here:
  • E-war caries a small number of stealth drones and other observation equipment, including limited carrier abilities (5$)
  • Cargo is obvious and is what earns the name of Auxiliary. Is for sale to interested buyers.
  • Fighting, adds additional missile batteries and small shield projectors, is for sale to trusted buyers. Full value combatant.
  • Troop transports is simple troop barracks and launch bays, for sale to governments. 5$ of troops max load.
  • Shoal rig, based on technology traded with the Lost. Is limited to 3/4 free space hyperspeeds when in shoals but only 150% the speed when running down a hyper-lane. Not for sale and no additional combat abilities.
Spoiler
Fgalkin we talked about this a while back but never had anything in character happen with this, the trade was all the information about the Central Alliance that the Eoghans had for the Shoal drive system. Most of the information that we gave you off-screen would be the stuff the Central Alliance had given us in the first place, plus some from our own probes of the event. Alright?

Star Kingdom of New Anglia Military Construction Budget - FY 3401

GDP: $73,000

Possible Budget: $5,840 (8%)
Desired Budget: $5,475 (7.5%)

Due to the fiscal crisis facing the Kingdom, the current Liberal Government of Stephen Penton has opted to limit military spending compared to what the Conservatives sought, though the Liberals have agreed to build the desired number of new capital ships if at a reduced pace.

3401 Update: Due to the Battle of Pendleton a new Star Cruiser has been ordered for construction. Additionally military buildups due to the peculiar events of 3400, such as the arrival of the Multiversal Empire of Happiness, have resulted in a Defence Budget that expanded military expansion spending beyond the 5% cap imposed by the Exchequer.

King Edward XV-class Flag Dreadnought - $600 Value
Units: 0 (7 Planned)
HMS King Edward XV (Laid February 3400, Complete August 3402, Commissioned April 3403)

The Refuge Military Construction Budget, Approx FY 3401

New construction costs:

Note: there is a hard freeze on starting new construction until the return of the MEH armada, but consider this an effective freeze on new construction until 3402 after things stabilize a bit (they hope). The numbers probably look really wonky, but they'll be cleaned up in the 3402 budget.

*1x$500 heavy, started in 3400, to be completed in 3402.
$350 ($100 already paid, $50 to be paid in 3402.)

*$350 ultraheavies: 1 completed ($50), another completed and in shakedown ($150), another in process to be completed around the end of 3401 ($250) = $450

*$150 heavies - $600 to complete construction of ships previously started (incl. carriers). Most had already been paid for.

*$100 heavies – completion of 10 regulars warships $500
Completion of 15 carriers (incl fighters): $1250

*10x $75 mediums previously under construction completed and put into shakedown ($375 cost – other half of cost paid in 3400). 5 new started before freeze, to be completed this year – additional $375.
$700

Other:
*$500 for special Theological Defense projects
*$150 for construction of TD-specialized weapons modules ($5 value each = 30 modules. Most ships already carry 1-3 modules [depending on size – ultraheavys are 3, heavies are 2, and below is 1] and those are included in their point values. Removing the modules removes $5 of value per. Modules can also be for additional shield strength or sensor power.]
*$600 for reinforcement and loss replacement of grounds ops

Total: exactly $5100 – 10% GDP

In FY 3401, the Technocracy of Umeria continues its "Fleet 3410" construction program, building new ship types known collectively as the "Century Fleet."

The lead waves of screening vessels of the latest type have already been completed under the program. Frigate and cutter-tender designs have received only incremental upgrades. The most noteworthy advances found among the Fleet 3410 construction are in the new Renata Fields-class destroyers, which are greatly superior to the older classes in energy-efficiency and component service life. While closely equivalent to the older Scheele and du Chatelet classes in gross measures of firepower and reactor output, their greater endurance and lower operating costs increase their multirole capability. Analysts predict that the Renatas will begin to intrude on the interdiction, patrol, and reconnaissance missions, traditionally the province of the lighter but higher-endurance Umerian frigates.

In addition, the latest Flight III Hero-class light cruisers are updated to carry electronic warfare and C3I systems noticeably in advance over what was practical on the older hulls of the class. Upgrades to the Hero-class show a significant improvement, though not a sea change compared to the Flight I and II designs.

Most foreign observers believe that once an adequate number of Hero Flight III's are in service, SpaceSec will begin retiring the Conductor-class cruisers. These older ships are at best mediocre in the light cruiser mission by current Umerian standards. However, this process may not begin for several years, as there are an enormous number of Conductors among the system control forces. Since all current cruiser construction is devoted to escorts for new capital ships, replacing the Conductors is simply not an option for the next several years, barring an increase to the already liberal construction budget.

Improvements to the FF-7000 and AGP-3700 series frigates and cutter tenders are unremarkable- mostly of interest to the Umerians themselves, rumors of new enhanced-yield missile and torpedo warheads deployed during the Zebes campaign in mid-3400 notwithstanding.

Meanwhile, most popular attention regarding the "Century Fleet" focuses on the capital ships: the Vindicator-class dreadnought and Aurora-class battlecruiser. Both classes are equipped with the Mk XV Block 5 ion cannon, which offers roughly a 50% increase in firepower over the older Mk XIV proton guns. The Vindicators enjoy similar increases in shielding, electronic warfare capabilities, and broadside armament, at the price of greatly increased tonnage and considerably increased design complexity.

The Auroras are less changed structurally, representing a predictable scaling up and rearming of the Patriot-class heavy cruiser, in the same way that the Explorer and Tornado-classes evolved from the older Bombardier cruisers. Foreign analysts believe that the Auroras will benefit less from upgrading to the Mark Fifteen, as Umerian battlecruisers are already 'glass hammers,' greatly overgunned for their tonnage and defensive armament; further increasing their firepower out of proportion to the rest of their systems is unlikely to make them all that much more effective in combat. Some have already predicted that the Auroras are going to prove a disappointment.

Possibly in light of this, the Umerian government has ordered a hold on completion of the initial wave of six Auroras. This appears odd, as the ships' structure was almost entirely complete by December 3400. Normally, they would be starting commissioning trials shortly.

Some speculate that they may be spending extra time on internal refits, though security around the Auroras' building slips is even tighter than usual and no one has gotten close enough to be sure exactly what's going on.

This year Umeria is laying down another six Auroras and two Vindicators, with the third Vindicator being delayed on account of disruptions to shipyard schedules because of the delays in completing the lead wave of Auroras. In addition, the Space Security Force will be laying down screen elements for three new capital ship squadrons, along with a number of additional units to replace ships destroyed in action during the Zebes campaign.

For detailed descriptions of all Umerian warship designations, see the following data.

Umerian GDP: 59,000 terastarbucks ($)
Fleet construction budget: ~5900 terastarbucks ($)

Capital ship construction:

x2 FY 3401 $650 Vindicator-class ion dreadnoughts:
Laid down January 3401, due to leave yards July 3403, due to commission March 3404.

x3 FY 3400 $650 Vindicator-class ion dreadnoughts:
Laid down January 3400, due to leave yards July 3402, due to commission March 3403.

x6 FY 3401 $250 Aurora-class ion battlecruisers
Laid down January 3401, due to leave yards January 3402, due to commission July 3402.
[Analysts predict that like the FY 3400 wave, these ships will be delayed for further systems installation, which would take place in FY 3402]

x6 FY 3400 $250 Aurora-class ion battlecruisers- DELAYED:
Originally due to leave yards January 3401; an additional six months has been scheduled for installation of [CLASSIFIED BURN BEFORE READING], also known as "internal upgrades to electronics fit," at additional cost of $100 each. Build plan thus revised to:

x6 FY 3400 $350 Aurora-class ion battlecruisers:
Laid down January 3400, due to leave yards July 3401, due to commission January 3402

Capital ship cost: 2(650)+6(250)+6(100) = $3400

Screen element construction:

Fourth wave of five laid October 3401, due to leave yards January 3402, due to commission February 3402

x2 FY 3400 $20 AGP-3700-series cutter tenders
Last two hulls laid down in 3400 commission in months of January and February 3401.

x12 FY 3401 $20 AGP-3700-series cutter tenders
Continuous series production: one new keel laid down per month; one tender commissions every month from February 3400 on to January 3401.

Screen element cost for keels laid in 3401: 3(150)+6(60)+18(40)+12(20) = $1770

Program cost: 200$

Additional Supplementary Construction
x4 FY 3401 $30 FF-7000 series frigates
One laid down January 3401, due to leave yards March 3401, due to commission April 3401
One laid down April 3401, due to leave yards June 3401, due to commission July 3401
One laid down July 3401, due to leave yards September 3401, due to commission October 3401

Because I still had to.

FY 3400
GDP: $60,000
Budget: 4,500 (7,5%)

The military budget of the Cevaucian Ascendancy this year reflects with astounding clarity the distribution of power within A-Sec and thus, in a very real way, within the Ascendancy itself. Supreme Commander Trego of the Nightfall Overfleet narrowly beats out his eternal rival McCorl (but only just): Trego's right hand man Degio meanwhile has contrived to deprive his arch-nemesis Warmaster Lowry and his Rear Arbitrat of the funds that would be necessary to, in the long term, make Regency into a military power to rival Nightfall. Warmaster Glask meanwhile has made off with ten percent of the budget, a stunning victory for the Nakhthar commander probably made possible by the fact that the other Nakh were busy stabbing each other in the back, and because Leonard Bateau still owed him a few favours.

Code: Select all

Nightfall 17%	765
Black Fleet 16%	720
Liquid Phalanx 13%	585
Minutemen 13%	585
Sauer's Brawlers 8%	360
Dayrise 10%	450
VanSec 11%	495
Rear Arbitrat 9%	405
Meisters 3%	135
FY 3401
GDP: $60,000
Budget: 3,000 (5%)

Due to unrest in the Scorpian sectors as well as continuing instabilities in RingFring the A-Sec budget has fallen to 5 percent of GDP, the lowest of any nation in the K-Zone. Politics within MetaCon and the Forum has resulted in minor shifts in budget allocations: Warmaster Wexly has managed to wrest precious funds away from Supreme Commander Trego's Nightfall fleet, a minor coup for the commander of Liquid Phalanx; McCorl and Sauer have come to a multi-year agreement with respect to distribution of funds between the Black Fleet and the Brawlers, stabilizing that particular feud for at least a little while. Extra funds too for the Corps of Meisters this year, but at a price: Director Bateau has been forced to cut down hard on the expansion of his Minutemen. It is likely this is the doing of Director Volkner whose VanSec has in recent years looked with increasing wariness on the continuing expansion of the role of Bateau's CTI.

Ground Forces
In light of experience in regards in engagements against MEH forces, the Commonwealth Army has determined that an increase in the capacities of its forces is warranted. As such, several improvements shall be made to both conventional and posthuman forces…
• Increase the scale of the Mechanized forces employed by Commonwealth soldiers
• Increase the scale in which airpower is employed by the Commonwealth Military
• Improvement of armored forces by adopting several models of vehicles which were previously rejected in the 3388-3396 period (Ragnarok Heavy Tank, Huscarl Heavy Armored Personnel Carrier, Rottweiler Flak Tank, Terrier Tank Destroyer, Marlin Marine Combat vehicle) due to budgetary concerns
• Improvements in small arms technology, this shall include outfitting existing weapons with next generation power systems and miniaturized inertial dampeners, this should increase muzzle velocity by a respectable margin while maintaining weight requirements. Introduction of countergrav assisted VX-28 Reaper tri-barrels to infantry at either the Cohort or Century level.
• Upgrade infantry protection by upgrading to the Lorica mk-46 as well as increasing the scale in which thermoptic camouflage systems are deployed for both regular and posthuman forces.
• Due to the increasing number of instances in which close quarters combat happen in modern combat, the ccw55 shall be adopted, along with the CSD1 Yellowjacket close quarters drone.
• Improve the performance of our Posthuman infantry by installing shielding systems on all Cougar combat forms as well upgrading their armor. Thermoptic layering shall be standard for all frontline Bobcat combat forms. Both shall receive improvements in power supply.
These upgrades shall be introduced incrementally, for the first year ten million posthuman and one hundred million regular soldiers shall be upgraded. In terms of points, this shall raise them to 2.5 kit for regulars and four for Posthuman soldiers.

Provisional Counterterrorism Corps-(20 points, 250,000 soldiers per half point)-An initiative spearheaded by the Commonwealth Army to assist in the occupation of the former Multiuniversal Empire of Happiness, the PCC is intended to put more boots on the ground and to play a critical role in the future re-development of this sector of space. Recruited from native volunteers (the overwhelming majority of which co-incidentally being former POWs that have been processed by strategic rehabilitation facilities). Trained by the Commonwealth Army, equipped with Commonwealth manufactured weaponry and vehicles and structured on Commonwealth patterns. In terms of equipment, these soldiers are limited to infantry scale weapons, body armor, light countergrav aircraft, supply trucks and iceskinks for transportation. They have no armored fighting vehicles, anti-aircraft weapons beyond a small number of Zweihanders, space transport and have only the most basic in air transport. Their purpose is not to serve as offensive troopers, but rather to assist in maintain order in the chaotic mess that arose after the fall of the MEH. These forces are to be integrated into the new governments that shall be installed after occupation leaves.

(1,000 points Regular Forces)
