Hogwarts vs Jedi Temple

Post by Rathark »

Lets assume that all the staff and students of Hogwarts (Chamber of Secrets era, because that's all I've read up to this point) went up against an equal portion of Jedi Masters, Knights and Padawans (AOTC era). So you have Hogwarts students vs Padawans of equal age, and Professors vs Knights and Masters. Harry, Ron and Hermione may attempt to go beyond their reach, unsurprisingly. Never mind the motives. What are the results?

normally? they buy each other drinks and ponder the inponderables. neither are that warlike.

if they start getting nasty, 15 professors saying avada kedavra, plus a bunch of the more advanced students, would slow down any jedi advance. course, yoda may dodge the greenness, grab all the wands, and throw them into the lake. then it's lightsabers vs unarmed wizards.

I'm thinking jedi.

hogwarts: Avada -
jedi: -handwave steals wands, turns on lightsabers-
hogwarts: -panics, is chopped to bits along with being squished by falling towers-

Compared to the Sith, the Jedi are of questionable coolness. However, compared to those Hogwarts pussies, they are the epitome of bad-ass coolness. Jedi in a cakewalk. Yoda alone could take them all out. While they conjure up flying broomsticks and other such nonsense, he'll be kicking ass and severing limbs.

I'll be DAMN glad to see the asses of those Hogwarts bastards whopped. I hate those arrogant magick practitioners.

Not oonly would I send in Yoda, I'd send In Obi, and most importantly, Mace Windu. Mace Windu can teach young Obi some skills in ass-whuppin'

I think that it would go a little something like this.... :D

Hogwarts teacher: Imp-! *trying the Imperius curse

Obi-Wan *lazily*: You are my bitch.

Hogwarts Teacher *transfixed*: I am your bitch.

Obi-Wan to Anakin: You see the effect of the Force on the weak minded?

HP magic appears to require considerable time to invoke. The Force is not so limited. And no one at Hogwarts has an answer for a lightsaber, for the Jedi speed and strength, or to the Jedi's ability to move objects around or even make themselves appear to disappear.

well, their banned curses make you feel agony, subservience, or instant death, so presumably that's their most powerful.

but their weakness is that they have to use wands for any spell - and any half trained jedi can take away a 12 inch twig.

While I believe that the battle might be more complicated, involving Hogwarts enchanted items (invisibility cloaks, magic carpets/brooms, etc.) I don't see any way that Hogwarts can win. I do not yet see any weapons or equipment that the Jedi cannot answer, and I do see several Jedi talents that no one in Hogwarts can deal with.

We have cannon proof that an invisiblity cloak would not work against a Jedi;

Luke: With the blast sheild down, I can't see. How am I supposed to fight?

Obi-Wan: Your eyes can decieve you, so don't trust them.

Everybody's talking about the three Unforgivable Curses as being a viable option for the Hogwarts team. That, IMHO, is stupid. No self-respecting Teacher would use an Unforgivable Curse except in the direst of circumstances. We can safely assume that there will be no massed firing of Aveda Kedavras. The Jedi would be employing Force Lightning in concert before that happens.

Don't the Wizards have the abilites to zap one thing into another?

Otherwise its a quick who can yell what the quickest

Turning the Jedi into small fuzzy bunnies for example might be a viable attack method, that or attack thier light-sabers and poof them away

Also keep in mind they don't always need the wands or did I remeber that right when very scared or hurt sometimes they can save themselves through a kind of wild magic?

Yes, however we do know that spells from HP universe can be dodged, so that means a Jedi shouldn't have too much difficulty. Of course I could be thinking of a specific example of only one spell being dodged, but since when have I allowed facts to stand in my way?

Mind you, all the spells seem to have somekind of visuall effects, lights/colours, so would lightsabers be able to deflect them, ala Obi-Wan stopping force lightening?

And personally I would love to see anyone try and turn Yoda into a bunny!

Yoda: *Palm raised, diffusing transformaiton spell* Ridiculus, enough alread am I... Anger me now you have!

Hogwarts teacher: *Just became saber shish-kebab*

Yoda: Ridiculus, now you are

I know that the Invisibility cloak would not work. I said that. I said that none of the Hogwarts stuff would work effectively agaisnt a Jedi, and many Jedi tricks would work very well against the Hogwarts staff.
