GOD DAMNIT! Microsoft made a shttty PC with a controller and released it on the game market. They may have had a powerful(and huge) unit, but they had shit for games. So what did they do? Try to compete? NO! They'll just buy out the best ones they can. Sony's buying part of Squaresoft ticked me off, but once Nintendo got the GBA as a leverage both Squaresoft and Capcon were negotiated back to nintendo. But would microsoft buy a foothold into a gaming company. NO! They'll just use their computer backing to buy them the fuck out. I wasn't that ticked when they did it to Rare. A lot of the rare games I liked were licenced by Nintendo. But now they really pissed me off. They are thinking about buying out Sega. FUCKING BASTARDS I'D KILL YOU ALLL IF I HAD THE IMMUNITY! I like the Sonic Series, and while the Adventure series aren't what they should be, they aren't that bad, same for the GBA sonics. But now I can pretty much just kiss that all good bye.

I despise consoles, so I don't care too much about this. Still, if they aquire Sierra, I will be seriously pissed.

Well Sierra only published Homeworld, Relic Software:
http://www.relic.com actually did the development, so maybe if someone funded Relic for HW2, then it's all good. Unlikely though, so hope Sierra survives.
HW2 screenshots look cool.
Unfortunately, due to more game studios using M$'s proprietry DirectX, it'll take forever for it to work on linux- Transgaming has to reverse engineer it, and then there is copy protection, so you'll have to subscribe to WineX rather than just download from CVS and compile. Oh well hope it still works under Windows 9x when it comes out

Sierra is no longer the glorious company they were when the Williams owned them. Their new owner has shut down Dynamix (which was the industry where it was located) and cancelled a bunch of projects. No-where do you see classics that Sierra was known for. They still make good games, but what happened to the Space Quest, Quest for Glory or King's Quest series?
IIRC, some of Rare's staff jumped ship when Microsoft bought them out though I can't confirm this.
