Looking for some feedback on a plot-bunny that was suddenly spawned when i looked over some of my cthulhutech books, the basic idea is that the cthulhutech earth is some where on the Rim of the 40k galaxy and that a small rogue trader detachment find it and all hell breaks loose
The biggest problem was probably matching the mythologies of the different settings but my plan was that all the extra-dimensional gods and other creatures are warp entities. the major ones such as hastur, nyarlathotep and Cthulhu itself are proto-gods more powerful than anything except the four major gods of 40k. while the minor creatures are simply leftover warp demons not aligned to any major power some of these are even relatively benign (Tagers).
All humans are minor psychers this is an established fact in the 40k universe but on the cthulhutech earth it is more pronounced than ever and is actually more stable for a gamut of reason the major ones being the lack of overt interference from major warp beings and the reason a copy of earth exist, experiments made by the old ones(40k old ones not the souls sucking abomination old ones) to create the perfect psychic soldiers in their war against the C'tan.
Ritual magic is a way for low level 40k psykers to use their abilites while para-psychics is a special mostly stable psyker. What 40k would see as normal is what cthulhutech calls zoners and burners, powerfull but insane and unstable.
In relative power levels i see that while the imperium has a higher level of science in most fields in some (energy and production capacity) are more in the cthulhutech verse direction. i also classed power armor as pretty high in the integrity scale of health/armor while things like titans are in the Hull class.
For a basic rundown of scale it goes vitality>integrity>hull each step is worth 50 points so 1 integrity is worth 50 vitality while 50 integrity is worth 1 hull.
(on a side note, i drool, MASS PRODUCED TITANS )
on the more metaphysical side i classed the worst monsters such as Spawn and the most powerful Dhohanoids and Tagers as greater demon/ demon prince level.
My view is that the Nazzadi wont actually be a problem except perhaps for the most strident of the Ordo Xeno because it is canon that variations of the human norm exist even those that look almost exactly like Nazzadi (the inhabitants of Nocturne). The biggest issue will be that they where created by aliens.
On a more personal level i would pay to see what the Inquisition would do to chrysalis corperation or the cults, they have a LOT of experience with cults.....

Re: Cthulhutech/40k crossover ideas
All I have to say is this.
Why not both? Seriously, I don't know what the CT old ones are exactly, but for some reason the idea of the benign well meaning Old Ones fighting the evil space undead Necrons actually being soul sucking evil creatures no better than their enemies would definitively be a fun thing to read about.(40k old ones not the souls sucking abomination old ones)
It has become clear to me in the previous days that any attempts at reconciliation and explanation with the community here has failed. I have tried my best. I really have. I pored my heart out trying. But it was all for nothing.
You win. There, I have said it.
Now there is only one thing left to do. Let us see if I can sum up the strength needed to end things once and for all.

They aren't, at least, not if you consider 40K and WFB to be the same universe. The WFB Old Ones are absolute jacktards, who turned up on a planet where they didn't create life, deliberately exterminated several intelligent species and moved the planet so it'd be more comfortable to them, even though that doomed the (also sapient) dragons to extinction.Purple wrote:All I have to say is this.

Certainly given how much else of the Necron Codex was revealed to be lies (and presumably enemy propaganda) to make the C'tan look bad - it may even be that the Necrontyr originally had a fairly good moral case for attacking these bastards.

In that same string of thought wouldnt The Outsider(the c'tan) fit right in with all the other insanity inspiring creatures in CT?

I didn't know the dragon thing, where's that mentioned? I know about at least one sentient species pre old one from one of the Griotex books but not the dragon thing.NecronLord wrote:They aren't, at least, not if you consider 40K and WFB to be the same universe. I think, though am not sure, that it's the 7th ed High Elf book; the Old Ones moved the planet closer to its star, which doomed the dragons to an environment that causes them to sleep for prolonged periods - as almost all dragons now spend all their time sleeping, it's a fair bet the Old Ones have caused their extinction.Bedlam wrote:I didn't know the dragon thing, where's that mentioned?
