Yeah I saw that. I don't really see the purpose behind it. About the only thing I can see happening is President Bush and his "bomb Iraq" contingent will try to use this to their advantage.

I suppose it might get the attention of some of the countries that have been pushing, for financial reasons, for the lifting of Iraqi sanctions. Somehow I doubt it will change their minds though.

It's a move that is of no use politically, especially against the (CNN quoted) "80-90% opposition in Germany towards backing US action in Iraq". I doubt they're all going to drop their schnitzel and beer and go join the US in beating up Iraq so that these new guys can impose their own government. Helping these dissidents would be somewhat like shooting the pride-leader and declaring the gazelles free to choose the next one from the remaining lions.

Uhm, know what Saddam's son, Uday, did to the Iraqi Soccer team after
they lost a Match?

He had them thrown into a dungeon and forced them to play soccer
with a CONCRETE ball....

Just for Info: the embassy has already been recaptured by the police and there were no death and only one light injury. The whole thing went almost without any violence on all sides.

Also this will not change anything for the german public. It has more or less been a non issiue in the german news (we have worse problems at the moment)

The cool part however is that the embassy is about 100 meters from where i am now. 8)

All the more reason to liquidate that entire family.

Was the ball regulation size? If it wasn't, that would be inhumane.
