Can a someone please tell me what kaeneth is asking?
Is he asking how I get the votes using Riverside County Republicans?
A: I realize that one seat changed hands since January, which is when that article is from, leaving 2 and 2 necessary in both houses.
B: I realize Tom Harmon is termed out, and he needs Democrats to confirm him to be a judge.
C: I also realize that the 31st, 36th and 37th state senate districts are all at least partially in Riverside County, and held by Republicans.
D. So I have +2 (Harmon's going to turn coat if he can make it pass, he's not stupid and doesn't want anything from the Tea Party or from CTPA)
E. The 64th, 65th, 71st, and 80th assembly districts are all Republican-held and at least partially in Riverside County.
F. That gives me +2 in both the Assembly and the Senate. I can hold the election now. (Or I could even pass the taxes if I wanted to).
Is that what you were asking?
Oh,
There are fewer Senate Seats in Riverside County than Democrats who abstained and/or voted against measures that would allow tax increases.
So once again, can you prove you can get a 2/3rds majority in the State Senate with the Republicans with -any- Riverside voters turning coat?
You really think that you can compare a vote everyone knows is going to fail to something that isn't? Are you that crazy?
Here's a hint, if they vote against it and it was going to fail anyway, they can still say they voted against it, most voters don't actually look that close.
