Alternate Ending to Star Trek Voyager's "Endgame"
Though of this while walking home, it was inspired by the Generations alternate ending..
After janeway from the future (We will call her FJ or Future Janeway) reaches Voyager, the crew assimble in the briefing room and discuss the plan to destroy the transwarp hub. FJ is resistant, saying that it's the only way home and destroying it will not affect the borg. The entire crew agrees with Present Janeway or PJ's decision and begins to devise a way. FJ talks to seven of nine and says she is going to die. Seven says it the small price but FJ tells her to let go of the borg past. Seven leaves.
The voyager reaches the nebula and the batmobile armor activates, FJ says its technology that uses micro-replication technology to create armor by harnessing matter from space. Voyager goes inside and is impervious to the borg weapons fire. PJ reaches the transwarp conduit and orders the modified torpedos to fire upon it. FJ now in the torpedo room readying modified torpedos, she leaves the torpedo room and goes to the shuttlecraft and leaves the ship. PJ orders tractor but the tractor system is been sabotaged. FJ is captured and now is in the borg queen chamber. FJ makes a deal with the queen, and when she is linked, a virus quickly destroys entire borg complex. PJ on voyager stands and watches the entire borg complex get destroyed. One last message tells voyager to get to the conduit, it is still stable. Voyager proceeds only to be chased by a surviving sphere. it is pulled inside. Outside sector 001, a fleet of 40 ships, all defiant, akira, steamrunners and galaxy classes are outside the co-ordinance of the transwarp conduit. The sphere proceeds to the alpha quadrant only to be destroyed by the virus. Voyager emerges and is met by the fleet. The transwarp conduit is destroyed also. The borg has been destroyed.
On the bridge, admiral paris greets janeway and informs him he is now a granfather, the doctor calls and tom paris goes down to sickbay to see his new baby. Tom paris and B'lenna Torres show there baby to admiral paris on the viewscreen. Voyager reaches earth and the crew disembarks.
On earth, A large celebration ensues and everyone is greeted by their families. Janeway is debriefed and gives records of her seven years in the Delta Quadrant. Chakotay and B'lenna goes to Federation Court to hear charges on aiding the Maquis but because of their service on voyager and the massacre of the Maquis, the charges are dropped. Harry Kim is now promoted to Commander due to his service on Voyager, he meets with his mother and Janeway shows up and tells the family of how he performs sevices on Voyager.
Seven of Nine meets her family for the first time in 20 years and Chakotay shows up and delivers the good news about him not being charged. Chakotay proposes to Seven and Seven shows her first human emotion. The Doctor goes to the Federation council and is declared a sentient being with all the rights and priveleges with the new Commander Data law for declaring sentient life forms. Tom and B'lenna are enjoying life in Malaysia and Tom decides to leave starfleet and his father agrees with him. He makes up with his father for all the years of being too hard on him. Chakotay and Seven get married in a Japanese garden with all the crew and admirals and relatives together. The crew get together in a restaurant and they talk about old times and the camera pulls up from the table and through the window and up from the street and through the skies and into space showing a beauty shot of earth. Credits roll.

So, it's basically the same, but with an extended ending.
There were a few problems though:
1. Why would they promote Kim from Lt. to Commander? I've never heard of SF promoting someone up two full ranks. At most, he would be Lt. Commander. Besides, he hasn't shown any true leadership skills that would warrent the rank of Commander.
2. Seven displayed emotions several times. She showed fear, saddness and hatred when that guy removed probes from her. She again displayed hatred when that 8472 took refuge on Voyager.

How about
GET RID OF FUCKING TIME TRAVEL
And Instead
Voyager ends up flaming pile of wreckage, be it by Borg, 8472, Sabotage, or fuck Even the SSD Executor.

Harry kim has shown remarkable valor on voyager and has commanded voyager several times. His record might be valid enough reasonThere were a few problems though:

But she was always held back, and we find out in "Human Error" that is was the design of her cortical nodes that was responsible2. Seven displayed emotions several times. and on saying it was the same.....
Actually, it isn't the same because the borg battle would be shorter and not long and drawn out. Admiral Janeway would leave the future without telling anyone and we would be left in mystery the future of the voyager crew execpt seven.[/quote]

My version
Voyager enters the Nebula, when Janeway orders the ship to try to enter one of the transport conduits the ship is captured and assimilated. The result is Borg stupidity reaches critical mass, totally destroying the collective. The whole thing would be over before the opening credits.
The rest of the episode would be B&B apologizing for what they've done to Star Trek, at gunpoint after prolonged torture.

Better yet: DeForrest Kelley (I miss you, Bones ) and Gene Roddenberry's corpses come out of the ground and drag Berman and Braga to Hell. And then Gene and DeForrest come straight back up on angel's wings. (You really didn't think I would consign those two to eternal torment, did you? )

I'd rather that someone, anyone, wake up from a dream erasing all that Voyager was because it was only a dream.
Perhaps it could be a halucination Janeway has while beign tortured by the Cardassians (Voyager did get lost in the Badlands)?

My version:
Forget the cheap ending of a Future-Saves-Present.
After Harry's idea gets rejected by Paris, he goes to Chakotay and the First Officer thinks it's a good idea and proposes it to Janeway. Janeway refuses the idea and after some argument Chakotay turns to the Maquis and Equinox crew, thus, a true mutiny finally happens.
Harry's idea turns out to be practical which makes them sneak through the Borg and into the transwarp hub, but finally the Borg find out and send a pile of ships to chase them. Being outrunned and a sphere finally consumes the Voyager, drones get on board and a battle begins but ends quickly with everyone assimilated, Seven is turned into a mindless drone but since she was installed with Windows XP beforehand a serious lag begins to happen within the collective network. All drones "wake up" with their individuality (because the network is too slow to suppress their minds) and of course, Voyager goes home. The Maquis and Equinox crew are court martialed and sent to prison in spite of objections everywhere, the people finally have enough of the Fed's ways and tear into Fed offices, including SFHQ. The Federation collapses.

If we are lucky, the capsul will land in a car carrying B&B and it will end their rain of carange. At least Roddenberry will have given something back to ST again.

I wanted to see more of VGR interacting with Starfleet and Earth in the finale, but not at the [terribly hurried] expense of the Borg.
Unlike most posters here, I dig the Borg. I do not like many things VGR did with them. But I always think of them as the epitome of total evil, a swarm of locusts that cannot be stopped a'la TNG.
So, I wanted VGR to be destroyed. Maybe some life pods would be launched in time to escape the ship's flaming debris cloud...but they would be tractored and promptly assimilated. My final scene of VGR had the Queen seductively caressing a newly assimilated Seven of Nine's cheek. Janewad would be in the background, just some stupid drone staring blankly forward, her idiotic twist on "morality" resulting in her crew being all killed or turned into zombies.
Fade to black, and we hear with a faint echo, "Our thoughts are one..."
A more logical ending to the series as a whole wouldn't have involved the Borg at all. It would've brought VGR and Janewad full-circle with the decision she had to make seven years beforehand: do we act like pompous assholes and strand ourselves again, or do we go the hell home already?
Better yet, I would have them screw up somehow such that, in Sisyphian style, they'd have to do those seven years over and over and over again for eternity.

Ah, shit. Right after I posted this, I remembered the "dilemma" VGR supposedly faced in choosing between blowing up a Borg transwarp hub *or* getting home. So in a sense, the finale DID deliver on what I asked for.seanrobertson wrote:?

What I meant to say was, I was disappointed because the dilemma was circumvented altogether. They weren't forced to make a choice that had negative consequences. They had their cake and ate it too. They should've been stuck in the DQ OR had to go home and just forget about the damn hub altogether.
I would not necessarily change the time travel stuff, though I probably would have forgotten all about that stupid Chakotay-Seven relationship. I mean, come on...if the only way you can make Cmdr. Cardboard interesting is to show him trying to get in Seven's pants, it'd be better to just kill him off.
But other than those and 500 other things, the episode was peachy.

I did an alternate ending to Voyager, but it had absolutely nothing to do with the Episode. It was actually something I came up with during the end if season 6. Remind me to post sometime, I got some positive feed back about it before.
