I like the shot of The Doctor punching Hitler in the face.

I think that was Rory not the Doctor. It would also appear the Cybermen are back, as is the fat bloke from "The Lodger."
Baltar: "I don't want to miss a moment of the last Battlestar's destruction!"
Centurion: "Sir, I really think you should look at the other Battlestar."
Baltar: "What are you babbling about other...it's impossible!"
Centurion: "No. It is a Battlestar."
Corrax Entry 7:17: So you walk eternally through the shadow realms, standing against evil where all others falter. May your thirst for retribution never quench, may the blood on your sword never dry, and may we never need you again.

Yes, that was Rory. Once again demonstrating that he's the most bad ass companion.
Also, here's a better looking version of the trailer on the official website: http://www.bbc.co.uk/doctorwho/dw/videos/p00jb05r

Was that Churchill again at 00:08?
"So you want to live on a planet?"
"No. I think I'd find it a bit small and wierd."
"Aren't they dangerous? Don't they get hit by stuff?"

I really hope it IS a Raxacoricofallapatorian and not just another "Slitheen". According to the Doctor they where a relatively peaceful race aside from the rogue family.Raxmei wrote:Looks like a Raxacoricofallapatorian wearing Winston Churchill's skin as a disguise.andrewgpaul wrote:Was that Churchill again at 00:08?

In the trailer, is that the Doctor's roommate at 20 seconds in?

Also, when did Amy learn to sword fight? In the pirate episode she uses a sword, and in the trailer she's duel-wielding a sword and what looks like some sort of staff or poll weapon.
My theory is that Rory learned some sword-fighting skills as a Roman Centurion and that he's been teaching Amy since then.

And here's what the Fuhrer has to say about being punched by Rory in one of his time-honoured bunker rants.
Where is that hotel, why is the hotel such a weird, windowless place inhabited by a scary minotaur like monster, a drooling weirdo tied to a chair, and a miserable clown? So incredibly random and out of context.
And here's what the Fuhrer has to say about being punched by Rory in one of his time-honoured bunker rants.

Hmmm Karen Gillian in a hotel...
Would be kinda funny if the story of her walking around naked at 7AM was a result of the series somehow. Got completely smashed and thought she was banging on Doctor's door perhaps ?
Assuming it is true naturally, I doubt the validity of any story that has a guy staring through a peephole at Karen Gillian knocking on their front door naked. When opportunity knocks like that... you open the door as soon as humanly possible.
Amy - Dual wielding swords. Really ?
Even if Rory has been teaching her I find this kinda stupid.
Rory - Punching Hitler
Might be interesting but I sense another convoluted mess occuring
Cybermen - Sigh
Weeping Angels - Come on... are these going to be the new Dalek staple pin of Doctor Who now ?
Doctor Death Date: 5:02 pm 22/04/2011
This is shown on the TARDIS screen, so either the TARDIS has the ability to discern when someone is going to die or has access to that information. Cant say I really care since its a no-brainer all this bullshit about the Doctor dying is exactly that. Would have a better chance of making it Rory or Amy that dies although in the former I think thats a given considering he is Doctor Who's equivelent of a Red Shirt.

Re: New Doctor Who Trailer for series 6 part II (spoilers):
Isn't it more likely it just looked it up in a database somewhere? 'The Doctor is predestined to die' was last seen sucking in a Colin Baker story, so maybe not such a great plot hook.
And man that shot of Amy flopping around a pair of katanas one-handed with no leverage at all behind them is like something from primary school.
What the trailer reinforces to me is that the new team is just as obsessed with their pets as the old team was. It seems kind of sad.

What's wrong with Cybermen?Cybermen - Sigh
When they've shown up every season for thirty years you can say they're like the Daleks. That said, the Angels are frightening and almost unbeatable. Overuse could change that.Weeping Angels - Come on... are these going to be the new Dalek staple pin of Doctor Who now ?

As for NuWho sometimes being self-indulgent in the last three or four years, I'm afraid that's a side affect of the head writers (Russell T. Davies and then Steven Moffat) being huge fans of the show as kids from decades ago, so while they've NuWho much more in spirit of DW from 60s/70s/80s than the abortive TV movie from '96, there's going to be trade off since they're so much in awe (and you could tell that RTD was a huge fan of the Pertwee era).
Steven Moffat is a fine writer and his stewardship of the show is still very solid, but he was at his very best when he did less than two episodes a season and I wonder what've happened if Paul Cornell was in charge instead? But quite likely he's next in line anyway; I really dug Neil Gaiman's episode but he's unsuitable as a show runner, since he kinda ballsed up Neverwhere, an obscure for a good reason 1990s show).

What does 'stewardship of the show' even mean, when he's just pressed the 'make my characters awesome' button? If anything, his ludicrous DEM reset ending was even WORSE than previously!
It's pretty funny to read 'xyz guys from the zine/novel scene in the 90s decided to do abc with the show, and now there's nobody to stop them. Bwahahahahahahaha!' stuff, so I hope they don't change anytime soon.

Moffat's writing as a whole has been far better than RTD, though even he had some good moments and episodes (Bad Wolf/POTW come to mind).

Haven't seen that one, out of the specials I've only seen Planet of the Dead and End of Time.
To be honest, my favourite episodes up until now go like this:
1. Bad Wolf/Parting of the Ways
2. The Impossible Planet/The Satan Pit
3. The Girl in the Fireplace
