Can't kill kids in Fallout 3. It's quite annoying as they're quite annoying.

Retard moment for me. It's something I do for evil characters out of annoyance the vanilla game tagged them all as essential. You turn a lot of towns permanently hostile if you do that, like in the original two games. But yeah, if you want to flush that post to HOS, I won't complain. Stupid stupid stupid!

EDIT: What Flagg said.
"I'm just reading through your formspring here, and your responses to many questions seem to indicate that you are ready and willing to sacrifice realism/believability for the sake of (sometimes) marginal increases in gameplay quality. Why is this?"
"Because until I see gamers sincerely demanding that if they get winged in the gut with a bullet that they spend the next three hours bleeding out on the ground before permanently dying, they probably are too." - J.E. Sawyer

Something my brother used to do with cheat codes in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion when he was feeling unusually homicidal: a custom spell called "Chaos Spear". It does maximum possible shock, frost, and fire damage (in that order), over maximum possible area of effect.

He turns on God Mode (the only possible way to use this spell, since it consumes a ridiculous amount of magicka even with Destruction maxed out), then shoots it at a wall in the middle of the Imperial City Market District. Being that he designed it with shock damage first, it leaves his hand as a lightning bolt. The bolt hits the wall, splits into a zillion different bolts, and anything that's not nailed down goes flying. Everybody in range dies and is blown through the air, everybody else runs screaming, and any surviving guards go absolutely nuts.

Any number of explanations for the name. I honestly never asked.

I remember a base attack in XCOM when a random shot hit a console. Boom. Which of course cooks off the console next to it and stuns a alien. Boom. That explosion sets of the stunned aliens ammo. Boom. Which cooks off another console. Boom. Rinse, boom, repeat boom. For 5 minutes. Interspersed with death screams.

Starcraft PvP. My friend and I would occasionally play Zerg and Terran on the same side. The Zerg player would immediately send an overlord out to one of the enemy player bases and repeatedly click one of the animals there, causing it to explode in a mushroom cloud. This had about a 50% chance of causing a rage quit. Good times.

Playing Total Annihilation, I built about 200 tier one assault kbots and sent them at my opponent. He has a single plasma cannon set up, and I watch the shell as it arcs down into the middle of my swarm of gribblies--and kills them all in a titanic explosion.

Turns out that everything explodes on death in this game and, apparently, tier one assault kbots can't survive being immediately surrounded by two or more exploding tier one assault kbots...

If you think it's bad in TA, in SupCom a single nuke can cook off a whole T3 base if it is dense enough. I was just playing it and I managed to get but one nuke out of five launched at the same time to land smack dab in the middle of a Cybran base. The entire base goes up in a massive explosion larger than the original nuke in less than ten seconds. No survivors in the immediate area, and those who survived one the island were caught up by the follow-up nukes.

It also works if you just nuke the edge of the base, enough to set off a few buildings (Preferably power generators). It doesn't hurt if they keep their experimentals and SCUs inside the base as well, since each of those is its own mini-nuke as it is.

What's more fun is doing the same thing, but by crashing Aeon Czars on the base instead. Thank you crash damage.

please define explosion...

I do play master of orion II sometimes, and recall wiping an invading army of doomstars with plasma cannons and Ion cannon based defenses, with out even having stellar converters yet....

also in SEIV my Fenari would frequently do boarding actions with small ships even after folks had long ago built self destruct systems. knock down a shield runn a tiny little ship up, and wipe out a giant ship, for the cost of a tiny ship....

All the better!

Say, anyone ever try ramming in HW1? And I mean proper ramming, not fighters-go-boom-crash. I mean heavy cruiser goes full speed at target.

In Homeworld's multiplayer an old tactic before WON server support was cut was to get your mothership to max speed and have it ram the opposing side's mothership. The end result was that both motherships would explode due to the high mass of both the Kushan and Taiidan's respective motherships. I did it once. I technically lost, but so did the other guy.

Probe Golf is another, but it annoys most people and you can only really do probe golf with the Kushan's probe since it has a bigger, more damaging explosion. Oh, and BTW - Probe Golf is where you build nothing but probes and send them directly next to enemy forces, and scuttle them as fast as you can in the hopes of killing him before he churns out a decent force.

However, probes are cheap enough that the automatic RU sum you get in multiplayer when you have under 400RU is often enough for you to spam insane amounts. I heard one guy actually managed to make 2000 probes, but all the engine trails apparently crashed the other guy's game.

I had a carrier ram the Taiidan mothership once. Twas quite spectacular.

More entartaining was the ion cannon frigate ramming my opponents heavy cruiser, It didn't kill it but hurt it enough for my bomber squadron to kill it in a single sweep. Sweet!

Doesn't quite qualify as an explosion, but we seem to be drifting anyway, so...

I was playing one of the plot missions in X3: Terran Conflict, Operation Final Fury. I'm in the captain's chair of an Osaka-class battleship, the Yamato. The whole system is under attack by Kha'ak (insectoid extragalactic invaders that fly pyramidal fighters and spidey-looking capital ships).

So, I'm crossing the system at full speed (all of 54 m/s; go on, laugh), taking random potshots at any Kha'ak ship stupid enough to come within range. At the far side of the system from the jumpgate, a Kha'ak Destroyer is merrily blasting away at the ships defending a military outpost. Then I enter attack range and my forward battery lets loose on him automatically. The Destroyer takes a couple of hits and its shields go down to around 20%. It maneuvers wildly to avoid my fire...

... and then runs straight into the system's shipyard. BOOM.
