The Asgard in Star Trek
So what would happen if the Asgard in a alternate timeline never had solved their Replicator problem and their genetic cloning problem in their universe. What would happen if Q came to the Asgard and told them that he could make them a deal with them. He decides to help the Asgard rebuild in some other universe that is the Star Trek Universe. He places the Asgard in the Alpha Quadrant and all their technology with them. The Asgard now have a Empire the size of the Romulans or Klingon Empires. How would the Alpha and Beta quadrants get along when they meet? Could the Asgard defeat the Borg when they arrive?

Re: The Asgard in Star Trek
Variations on this have been done before, depending on the accepted calcs (high megatons to low gigatons currently I belive), the Asgard out muscle the various ST powers.
I'm assuming they have several planets with SG-verse neutronium deposits, because otherwise the Asgard don't get to play with their high end toys. Also, what will you be doing with the indigenous life on the planets that now fall within Asgard territory? (This is ST, in territory that size they are bound to have other civilizations running about)
They'd get along fine with the Federation, maybe even working with them they'd be able to fix their cloning problem. The Romulans will be suspicious and standoff-ish as usual. The Klingons will grumble and mock the little grey men until they see them blow something up. The Cardassians will mostly follow with the Romulans in terms of style. Everyone will be sending diplomatic (or just plain spy) envoys to them to find out what's up with the new kid on the block.

Again, depending on the accepted calcs, yes. Heck they don't even need to wait, they can just hyper on over and start blowing things up. Of course such behavior is not at all in line with standard Asgard behavior and they will likely be isolationist for a while until they build back up, unless of course a significant enough threat comes around. Considering the AQ powers can defeat the Borg on their own, and they only send the 1 cube at a time, it's unlikely the Asgard will do much of anything unless directly asked.Earth001 wrote:Could the Asgard defeat the Borg when they arrive?
