I have a friend who can do Mr. Voice perfectly.

"There were many people....they did many things...and then....something happened!"

And the reason English is so fucked up is because it's a hybrid. The core vocabulary and grammar are Germanic, but the vocabulary is 60% French with just the accents shifted. The Norman invasion totally fucked up the spelling and pronounciation, but also left English as one of the few languages capbable of adopting foreign words wholesale. It's also good for transmitting information in short bursts, which is why it's the international language of aviation. At any rate, if there's a world language anytime in the future, it's going to be from the Indo-European family. Including Hindi, some member of the Indo-European family is spoken as a primary language on every continent and as a secondry language everywhere else. Japanese might have some advantages over English in uniformity of spelling and pronounciation, but it's too fundamentally different from most widely spoken languages to be adopted (and good luck getting the rest of Asia to adopt Japanese as their primary language, anyway).

Aww, why'd Kelly have to ditch Faye-Faye. :(
I didn't ditch Faye. She's still around for special occassions. It's just that I get more respect with this avatar.

You people are strange as shit. Maybe the names in the voice actor credits are different then the series, but I just checked the trailer, and Faye and Spike sound exactly like they do in the series. So does Ed and Jet. Mr. Voice brought the trailer up a few notches too. Mainly because if they release that trailer anywhere (like TV, or in theaters which they'd have to in order to bring in more viewers) then this is gonna suck em in perfectly.

About language: any advantage in uniformity that Japanese has is a) overrated (English may be difficult, but enough people succeed at it that it's obviously not that much of a problem), and b) matched by the uniformity of Spanish. Spanish makes a whole lot of sense, and it is easy to pick up for people who already speak a language with heavy romance influence (such as English).
And you may ask yourself, 'Where does that highway go to?'

I can see Esperanto raising its head here in a few posts time. :P

And back to CB, Hopefully it'll be as good as the Japanese version without too much nonsense added in the transalations (although CB was never too guilty of that).

About the only thing they change in translation (at least from reading the sub and comparing it to the dub) is a few words that make more sense in English. It is one of the very few that are almost direct translations.

Of course, I'm pretty partial to the Japanese language version, mainly because I love Megumi Hayashibara. She's so great!

Personally I really like Ed's VA, Aoi Tada. She hasn't been in much, but is a beautiful young woman (hey I'm male what were you expecting, depth? :P )

Uhm... David Lucas = David Hayter. He simply uses different last names depending on what the project is... Confusing, I know. :P

Well twist my nipples and call me Mary, you're right. The funny thing is that my brother told me this after getting MGS2 because a lot of the VAs in the game have different names.

GAH!
