Scored a sweet old record player
My new (old) toy. Found it in my wife's grandfather's basement while cleaning it out and get it sold. According to my mother in law her father bought it around 1960. The sound is amazing... soft and warm. Took a minute for those old capacitors to warm up, but once they did, it was magical. Had it cranking out the Stones, Zeppelin, Elvis and Sinatra while we worked on the house. I need a new needle, and plan on getting some new fabric for the speakers and front console. But it's amazing what a little lemon pledge on the wood and some armor all on the plastic did.

From the looks of it this might murder vinyl just fine. You should seriously replace the needle before playing more records if you value them.
Out of curiousity, what make/model is that record player?
