Re: Mass Ponification! (RAR!)
The unicorns magic revolutionizes science and technology making the world for the better, the pegasus solve world hunger by controlling the weather making farming supper efficient. All of this after a few minor public disturbance( terrorist bombings, civil rights movements, creationist protest, etc), but eventually all will join to the herd!
I world of course be a unicorn, teleporting everywhere no need for cars trains;maybe even see if I can cure cancer.

Now hold up. Being a unicorn doesn't just simply give you the power to teleport, remember that Twilight is exceptional since her special skill is specifically magic. Very few unicorns are capable of more beyond telekinesis.

Re: Mass Ponification! (RAR!)
Damn! I forgot about that, but telekinesis would still be a very bad ass and useful ability. Though is that because of rare talent or from studying? We never see any other unicorn on screen that had a formal education demonstrate there power.General Schatten wrote:Now hold up. According to canon, you get powers related to your cutie mark/ profession (except for Twilight who's profession is magic itself).
That keyboard would be terrible (and yes, I know it's supposed to be a joke). A keyboard assumes fingers, hence why the layout is like that.
Further questions:
- What are the chances of us getting either wings or horns? Does lifestly/profession/life experience influence anything?
- Are there winged unicorns out there? Who would they be?
- What are the differences between an Equastrian pony and a regular Earth pony? Aside the cuteness, weird colours of fur, larger eyes and intelligence (plus ability to make speech)? What about such things as diet (just how herbivore are the E-ponies?), sleep requirements, etc? Will we have vision like E-ponies or have more human-like vision (which would be a bit terrifying in terms of evolutionary history)?
- Will pregnant women who are turned into ponies have their unborn children be ponies or be humans?
- If someone is turned into a E-pony, how does that effect their health? Are some conditions (blindness, mental conditions and yes, whatever is affecting Nit's liver) transferred or simply cured?

Also, set up some kind of "chair" that keeps your forehooves off the ground and stick something like a thimble on the bottom of each forehoof and you can at least manage a "two fingered typist" typing style.Starglider wrote:Pinkie Pie managed to build and operate a pedal-powered helicopter, plus lots of other crazy things. Pinkie Pie mentions a hot dog eating contest once and they use some milk and eggs in baked goods. Aside from that they seem mostly herbivorous. Those pigs are for finding truffles, honest.LadyTevar wrote:We've seen ponies eating apples, ice cream, what else?

Re: Mass Ponification! (RAR!)
The sheer amount of baked goods in the shows would seem to indicate a ponies diet is very flexible.
Cupcakes, Cakes, Chocolate, Strudel, Pies, Hard Candies. The list goes on.
After all, if you are consuming something which has Eggs, Flour, Milk, Butter, Sugar, etc. Well that is a very wide range of food items.
Eggs alone would be considered non-vegitarian as it is protein, not meat, but defiantly "from" an animal.
As for powers and cutie marks... One would assume we would be auto given cuti-marks based on out profession. HOWEVER.
As we all know in "Real Life" jobs change, professions change, skills change. A human can be a baker, a writer, a carpenter, etc...
In MLP, a Cuti-Mark, pardon the pun, "brands'" you to a specific task... Does anyone think a Pony with a baker centric Cuti-mark could ever be a writer? or a farm?
It seems a bit callous, but the world of MLP seems to hard dictate you whole role in life based upon it.
As such. Whatever cutimark we end up wiht may very well dictate what we do for the rest of our lives. Conversely it may be many humans simply do not every get the marks, as so many of us never truly deiced what are "true gifts" are...

Yes, actually. It's unlikely, but it might come to pass somewhere, somewhen.Crossroads Inc. wrote:In MLP, a Cuti-Mark, pardon the pun, "brands'" you to a specific task... Does anyone think a Pony with a baker centric Cuti-mark could ever be a writer? or a farm?
Dispite what the fools like Crossroads have deluded themselves into thinking, the CMC are the antithesis of how Cutie Marks appear. The Cutie Marks signifies what that particular pony likes to do. Usually, they match what his or her career is, but sometimes only indirectly. The primary example would be Pinkie Pie, who works in a bakery despite (or perhaps because of) her Cutie Mark signifying parties, not baking. If they were some branding handed out at random, the CMC would've gotten their Marks a dozen times over by now.
Cutie Mark Branding is nonsense on par with Iron Hoof. It is not thematically appropriate. It is not an interesting thought experiment. It is not even entertaining to read.
It is irritating.
And the sooner it stops, the better.

Re: Mass Ponification! (RAR!)
Ghetto Edit: Missed this one.
That's actually not true and the answer is yes, this is explicitly demonstrated in the show:The best example of this is Applejack and her entire family whose special skill is apple farming, but are extremely good bakers and salesmen as well. Fluttershy's special skill is animals, however, she demonstrates enough knowledge of dressmaking and sewing that the self-proclaimed fashionista, Rarity, is impressed. Rarity is a dressmaker, however, she can find rare gems and shows great skill in fashionable hedge trimming and crafting small projects. Twilight is a librarian with her special skill being magic, however, she's also a capable leader easily organizing the Winter Wrap-Up operations. Pinkie Pie's skill is partying, however, she's also a capable baker and inventor. Rainbow Dash is really fast which aids her in numerous things, from weatherpony to being a world-class athlete.Crossroads Inc. wrote:In MLP, a Cuti-Mark, pardon the pun, "brands'" you to a specific task... I meant regarding the RAR, not the show. I know about winged unicorns in the show, Princess Celestia is rather hard to miss.Yes, there are winged unicorns in MLP, but there's only two and they look like this and have powers like living for at least thousands of years and moving the sun and moon. None of us are going to be winged unicorn.

One thing that you forgot to consider is the effect this will have on the traditional nuclear family. Simply put, if you have half of the world population transforming there will be a lot of couples where only one of the two is transformed. How would this effect things? I suspect there would be a lot of families breaking up and people getting hurt.
It has become clear to me in the previous days that any attempts at reconciliation and explanation with the community here has failed. I have tried my best. I really have. I pored my heart out trying. But it was all for nothing.
You win. There, I have said it.
Now there is only one thing left to do. Let us see if I can sum up the strength needed to end things once and for all.

Would the more powerful Unicorns be able to us their magic and turn others into ponies? that would answer the problem of some put up by Purple. i know many people who would gladly give up their human form for the chance to fly or do magic. What special ability's do the earth ponies have?
