[40K]Pre-Heresy Primarchs Battle Royale
For reasons I cannot say, every Primarch gets dropped with his armor and favorite weapon(s) on a random location on the island from Jurassic Park. Only one Primarch is allowed to leave the island alive. Why gets to the final five? And which one gets off the island?
Personally, my money would be on the Crimson King. Lorgar and the twins probably end up last.
PS. The list for your reference:
Lion El'Jonson
Fulgrim
Perturabo
Jaghatai Khan
Leman Russ
Rogal Dorn
Konrad Curze
Sanguinius
Ferrus Manus
Angron
Roboute Guilliman
Mortarion
Magnus the Red
Horus
Lorgar
Vulkan
Corax
Alpharius & Omegon

Re: [40K]Pre-Heresy Primarchs Battle Royale
My vote would be on Sanguinius. The guy can just fly around until the others kill each other and than wait until the last guy starves. Would he do this? I don't know. But it is within his abilities.
It has become clear to me in the previous days that any attempts at reconciliation and explanation with the community here has failed. I have tried my best. I really have. I pored my heart out trying. But it was all for nothing.
You win. There, I have said it.
Now there is only one thing left to do. Let us see if I can sum up the strength needed to end things once and for all.

So does Corax (he has some funky jetpack if I'm not mistaken)Purple wrote:The guy can just fly around

Yes, but something makes me thing that the guy with wings has a much larger fuel capacity.

Sigmar takes it in the last 5 minutes.

Re: [40K]Pre-Heresy Primarchs Battle Royale
Do Alpharius and Omegon count as one person for the purposes of winning? Or does one have to kill the other?
And what of Primarchs II and XI? Maybe this is why they are unknown: they had a battle royale and those two lost.

Yeah, they'll stick together, but even with the two of them I don't think they're much of a match compared to some of the other guys.Eternal_Freedom wrote:Do Alpharius and Omegon count as one person for the purposes of winning?.

Re: [40K]Pre-Heresy Primarchs Battle Royale
In the opinion of Corax, at least, Horus, Sanguinius and Angron are in the top-tier of Primarchs when it comes to personal arse-kicking (he reckons that only one of the former two could take on Angron and stand a chance of winning). The least impressive would probably be Lorgar - and Guilliman, since they're roughly equivalent in the niche they fit into on their sides of the Traitor/Loyalist divide - and Alpharius/Omegon.

Angron or Magnus. Angron was a gladiator all his life, and in a one-on-one fight to the death there is no-one else worth betting on.

Presumably Sigmar is II or XI...
Where does that come from btw? I'm curious.

Re: [40K]Pre-Heresy Primarchs Battle Royale
That joke's origins are lost in the mists of time, but it probably sprang up from a few things in GW canon (they were canon back in the day anyway)-- the Warhammer Fantasy world is supposedly set within the 40K galaxy, and Sigmar supposedly appeared on the Old World in the time that the Primarchs were scattered, or 'ten thousand years ago'.Eternal_Freedom wrote:Presumably Sigmar is II or XI...

GW resolutely maintains that this is not the case, though, so it's mostly a fanboyish in-joke...
As for thread: We haven't seen Pertuabo in combat yet, he might be tougher than some think. Same goes for Night Haunter, who has the bonus in that he has actually taken down another Primarch in his time (Rogal Dorn). IIRC he did that without armour, to boot. Ferrus Manus seemed pretty hard-assed, too.
Do the Chaos Primarchs get the backing of their gods? Does Fulgrim get his Slaaneshi sword?
It's a strange world. Let's keep it that way.

Re: [40K]Pre-Heresy Primarchs Battle Royale
Although I'm not entirely sure if its supposed to be a character building exercise for Lorgar, he does actually kill a Bloodthirster in personal combat.
Its Forgeworlds Mr Angry Bloodthirster as well, supposedly the most powerful and awesome of all Bloodthirsters....apart from Kabandha....or Skarbrand...or whoever else has been named the most powerful recently.
Its not quite the "wrestle with, then fucking demolish" that the Blood Angel pulls off, but its fairly impressive.
He does fall over clutching at his precious organs ten seconds after winning, but still.
Lorgar is also of the firm opinion that Magnus is the most powerful, but I think his perception is skewed a little by his respect for the psychic abilities of the Red King, as we obviously know that Magnus doesn't do so hot against Russ.
In the vision Fateweaver shows Lorgar, in his supposed only moment of telling the truth without an equally convincing lie ever, Lorgar would kill the Ultramarines primarch in personal combat if it came down to it, but the Heresy would fall, and the others would perform some sort of voodoo ritual to curse the Word Bearers afterwards. (don't ask)

I was thinking more about that flame-sword he got from Ferrus Manus.Elheru Aran wrote: Does Fulgrim get his Slaaneshi sword?

I don't think that's really a fair way to assess Magnus, because as of A Thousand Sons we know-white_rabbit wrote:Lorgar is also of the firm opinion that Magnus is the most powerful, but I think his perception is skewed a little by his respect for the psychic abilities of the Red King, as we obviously know that Magnus doesn't do so hot against Russ.

Was it truth or a lie though? There's no reason both heads can't lie if both heads can tell the truth. Re: [40K]Pre-Heresy Primarchs Battle Royale
Here's my take on the overall picture.
Lorgar gets eliminated first. In comparison to the other primarchs, he's a weakling and a self-described amateur in combat. That still places him head and shoulders above any lesser man, of course, but when matched up against his brethren he's going to take a fall, fast.
Guilliman and Rogal Dorn go down next. They may not be pushovers like Lorgar, but there's a lot of resentment towards the pair of them from the other primarchs. I can see Perturabo and Curze, for example, teaming up to gank Dorn at the first opportunity.
Perturabo goes down too. There's nothing to suggest he's any kind of slouch, but his Legion's specialty is siege warfare, meaning he's not likely to have any kind of personal edge.
After this, the question gets a lot stickier. I think the final five would be Angron, Curze, Leman, Alpharius, and Corax. Why these five in particular? Because they're either utter savages or the worst kind of sneaky bastards, or both. They also share a crucial trait - four of them are consummate experts in close combat while the last (Alpharius) excels at getting close to his enemies without detection. More than that, though, these are five primarchs who excel at fighting and nothing else. None of them are scholars, or architects, or strategists, or artists, or orators. They're dedicated to one thing: killing the living fuck out of everything.
I think the last man standing, ultimately, would be either Angron or maybe Leman Russ. Angron's by far the more brutal, but Russ has a keen instinct and might be able to exploit Angron's killfrenzying to take him out.
Dark horse candidate: Alpharius. The sneakiest of sneaky bastards ever to sneak about, it's easy to imagine Alpharius going to ground and keeping his head down while his brothers murder the shit out of each other before emerging to backstab the winner. Alpharius also has a crucial advantage no one else can match: he brings a copy of himself to the fight, meaning he can set up baits and switches, fight two on one, and other such dirty tricks that none of the others can pull off.

This is a little silly. We can't really run numbers on this. It's like Kirk vs Spock. They might fight one day, and Spock win, and another, and Kirk win, depending on scenario, and luck...
