I also have an Adventure! emu that I fire up every so often for fun. Adventure was a text based fantasy game from the '70's. You traveled through a cave, looking for treasure, fighting trolls. Very simple two word commands, GO WEST, GET SILVER, THROW AXE, and so on. My dad thinks he still has a tape of it, somewhere. Anyone out there know FORTRAN?

Either way...I still play things like Moon Patrol....and Gyruss...still have enough skills to beat that evil biatch thing from hell.

I think I am the only person in the world who has a Nintendo that still runs flawlessly and a 2600 that runs like new.... (although I do need another joystick or two, they are about shot)

IIRC, the Zork games were loosely based on Adventure!. I'd have to go googling to be sure, the info escapes me, but I think Adventure was written in the late '70's. My dad and I played it (over Compuserve) when I was 8 or 9, I think, which would be '78 or '79.

Oh, a good replacement for your 2600 controllers are Sega Genesis controllers! Works like a charm!

You know, I think there was a version of Adventure put out by the same people that put out the Zork games (Infocom?) now that I think about it. Too, I think the square with an arrow was from an Atari game, with graphics. The original Adventure (and Zork games?) were completely text based, no graphics whatsoever.

The Master System controllers have the same pin design.

As for the old style NES...ah the classic box/toaster...I still have it and love it.

Because when we first got a PC, AOL got stuck at 9600 baud, I was only able to download small games, and came across some good old ones...

Such as the Intellivision for the PC games, including Astrosmash, Utopia, and some skiing game that I forgot the name of.

Regretfully, although my family purchased an Apple IIe back in 1985 or so, we never really used it...

Yeah, Im old school. I still like to play some old C-64 games via an emulator. I think I have CCS-64? I think my C-64 still works, but setting it up is not worth it.

I still like to play M.U.L.E and HERO. Sometimes I play Impossible Mission.

I would kill for a Space Invaders. Those things go for thousands on Ebay. One of the guys here at work collects pinball machines. He's seen them go for tons.

Hmmmmmm...well unfortunatly the only problem is while the places sell them pretty reseaonably(ah rentals/buys...based all upon age...I think Space Invaders rates around $500~1000)...the repairs will be probably pretty high.

But yeah I heard pinball machines especially classic or just some of good design go for insane amounts...personally they frustrated me too much to think of buying one......ah college and screaming at them.

Hmm, Jump Jet, VGA Frogger, Mission to Mars, some newer ones I still play are Duke Nukem and the Commander Keen series... If I had an old computer to put old games on I'd play a lot more of them (as of now trying to run Chopper Commander with my machine means instant death upon trying to take off as I speed into the air at the speed of light...)

I don't play games which date back to the C64 era, but I do still play Detroit.. It's an old game by Sierra where you run your own automobile company. I'm currently managing a corporation called Innsmouth Cars, operating out of New England... (Northeastern USA, in game terms)

Oh yes, trying to play Wing Commander is really fun. Forget pressing autopilot, your at the waypoint within a minute. And dead in a few seconds...

I wouldn't mind having a 386 or a 286 just to run games on. Of course I wouldn't mind having an original Atari to play all those games on either.
