anyone have travel tips for the colonel?
Ok so August 10th i'm getting married, and on the 11th my soon to be wife and i are driving up to Montreal for the better part of a week. She wants to go there because for the last year or so she has been hearing from my friends (3 other guys) about how much fun we had when we took a road trip up there, and there's do much to do.... She wants me to take her to all the nightclubs that they talked about etc. She's a 'big city' kind of person and is really big into nightlife and clubbing and stuff...we both are actually. That being said, i'm damn near positive that i cant take her on a tour of the strip clubs and whatnot that my friends...er...dragged me to. She knows that i went to strip clubs, but i was intentionaly vague when i told her that part of the story, so i'm just going to come clean and tell her. lol. Anyway, i know for sure i'm taking her to Sir Winston Churchill's for a night of drinkin' and dancin' and we'll check out the underground city, but we are there for several days and i'm trying to plan cool things to do. I know there are more than a few Quebecois on the board, (montcalm gave me some tips in an unrelated thread) so if any of you can recomend some nice romantic restaraunts and good nightclubs it would be helpful. Also, How long does it take to drive from Montreal to Ottawa? We might either do a day trip or stay a night there, becasue it would be cool to see parliment and the capital city. Any info you can give i will appriciate a lot.

Montreal to Ottawa is about a 1.5-2 hour drive at most if I remember right. Ottawa is definitely a fun place to visit and it's well worth it. If you're timing's good you'll get to see boats going up and down the locks on the Rideau Canal beside the parliament buildings, and you can also visit the Royal Canadian Mint and watch million dollar gold bars get made into commemorative coins. If you're really crazy you can break the display case and try to make off with a few $1/4 million gold bars.Col. Crackpot wrote:Also, How long does it take to drive from Montreal to Ottawa? aerius: I'll vote for you if you sleep with me.
Lusankya: Deal!
Say, do you want it to be a threesome with your wife? Or a foursome with your wife and sister-in-law? I'm up for either.

My wife and I went on a Princess cruise for about a week -- took the Alaska cruise -- was very relaxing and we were treated like royalty. Those cruises are much less expensive now than when we went.Col. I visited Montreal over the summer to watch the indy car race and there was tonnes to do. Your best bet for bars lie along Crescent and Catherine Streets. I was very loaded those three nights and I can't really remember the names of the bars...all I know was that I had a great time. When you file out of the bar at 4 or 5 in the morning, make sure you stop at a Lebanese eatery and sample some shish'taouk. Great stuff!Col. Oh so you're going to Canada is that it? Sure, betray the hockey team you love, the Red Wings. It's not like we need you. Go to your blasphemous hockey idols. We'll show you exaclty how we pryed the Cup from their cold dead hands when you get back.
Just kidding, go have fun.
