Rick Perry brings up the 7.7 trillion dollar loans by the Fed. And talks about himself in the third person. Bachmann wants to "legalize" energy and pushes to kill Obamacare, killing the EPA and Dodd-Frank.

Also she started by quoting Herman Cain and saying nice about her.

This looks like a rehash of previous talking points to debate, waiting on the back and forth.

The female moderator (Sorry I missed her introduction and the text is not labeling anyone) is... not good? Yes she's not good. She's hesitant and has a odd cadence.
Talking about the Payroll tax cuts. Bachmann is already lying claiming that Social Security is already insolvent.

Hilarious how every candidate talked about cutting taxes, cutting taxes, cutting taxes, when it came to job creation.

"Should the payroll tax cut be extended?"

Bachmann immediately switches rhetoric to how we can't spend money we don't have, we have to let the payroll tax cut expire. Perry dodges the question.

Finally we get some back and forth, the moderators have asked a question to everyone but Gingrich and the first chance we get Mittens bunts and attacks Obama rather than Gingrich.

Bachmann starts using NewtRomney as a single word to slam both of them at the same. Gingrich calls her a liar but she gets a good response in. It seems like she's actually running for President for once.

Perry is hitting up the same points over and over again.

Also Mitt Romney offers a 10,000$ bet, way to get in touch with the people being able to bet that kind of cash.
Also Bachmann gets skoooolllled.
*Edit what happened was she asked the question Do you think these people are going to repeal Obamacare? (Newt and Gingrich as one) :Yes and the audience erupts in cheers and laughter.

It's nice to be down to five people in these debates.
Yes Ron Paul is up there, but he's not really in the debate.

Ahhh.... time for the marital issues to come forward and Rick Perry gets asked it and considering his rumored issues there he handles it well. This is so specifically anti-Gringrich it's not even funny. Except it is because they are so going to ask him about it.

I think Romney might be trying to not burn too many bridges to lock in a solid VP choice.

And a topic about the drone, and Rick Perry uses it to attack Obama despite it making no damn sense.

*Edit, also as they go to commercial a good question "When was the last time you had a financial hardship" looking forward to that.

Rick Perry gives a good answer about being poor most of his life but he still sounds like Bush
Mitt Romney is honest about not being poor. He had a decent answer for someone who's never know want and turns it into policy speech.
Ron Paul reminds us he was around for WWII and came from a poor family and has a policy speech
Santorium speaks about the importance of family and gives not example of him facing privation

*Edit
But Bachmann manages to work in a response into her next question and she did face real privation getting a job at 13
Gingrich offers a so so answer, one of his weakest of the night.

And the debate is over, the general opinon is that Gingrich survived and might have even picked up some support. Romney, Bachmann and Perry managed to embarse themselves again in some way (In descending order of embarrassment, Perry least with fumbling his Romney attacks while Romney most with his ten thousand dollar bet)

Gingrich just came out good, and the crowd was on his side for several of those exchanges.

Is it a bet if it's a sure thing?

Well, the odds in a bet would usually be stacked against one of the bettors. After all, if it's a sure thing for one guy, than the other guy has to take the risk (I think that's the Cliffnotes version of how casinos make their money). So Mittens wants to play the dealer, apparently.

I swear, the lady moderator was loopy on NyQuil or something.

Anyone else notice Rick Perry's total failure of English comprehension on the fidelity question?

Well, after all, wouldn't you need to be loopy on something to get through one of today's Republican presidential debates?
