I resent the comparison.
Starscream is lame, while Rainbow Dash is only sometimes annoying.
Though I guess it works since RD is supposed to represent loyalty, while Starscream is pretty much the opposite of that...
(I can't watch the video, but I assume they end up making friends.)

The outcome should be obvious :D
It was definitively not obvious that Rainbow could eat a super-robot's soul.

It would be horrible if this show lasted for 23 seasons, the quality would drop a goodbit over that time.

don't forget Starscream's horrible aim, you don't need to be fast with him as your enemy. thought the instant 45 degree turns of a Sonic-Rain-boom helped.

So, no, Not surprised at all.
Gargoyles also developed a strong following too (didn't hurt to have Trek actors for voicing either :) ), but Disney being morons let it fall to the wayside for cheaper animation productions. If more modern animation was as good as BTAS (or X-men for that matter) then western TV animation would be in better straits.

So... we finally get our long, LONG-awaited Applejack episode, and she's not in it. I don't know whether to laugh or cry.

Doesn't mean that she won't actually show up during that episode. It's perfectly possible that we will see things both from AJ's perspective and that of the rest of the Mane Cast.

This could be the perfect episode to have some flashbacks about her family and stuff!

I don't know about that. As brief as the description is, it implies some sort of mystery about her whereabouts to me.

That it possible, but it's just as likely to have all the in show character's not know whats happening to her while the audience is does. us knowing were she is in my opinion would be a interesting story, we could learn more about Applejacks character.

Why? If the auidance knows it and the cast doesn't, that means that the whole episode will be spent with the audience groaning till the cast learns the same thing that the audience will.

It is possible to make a good mystery story about how the protagonist learning what the audience already does (Colombo comes to mind) but that is a whole other cattle of fish. One that isn't typical of FiM or I can only imagine working with FiM with great difficulty (and a few intellectual acrobatics, which I find unlikely for what is meant to be a kid's show).

Writing a mystery story with the learning pace the same as the protagonist/investigator is simpler and better.

Besides, it is not necessary for AJ to be physically present for us to learn about her.

I'm still waiting for the Scotaloo episode. :(

Besides, doesn't AJ have her own episode of Applebuck season?

not saying the episode would be done that way, just pointing out the possibility. if we see her or not depends entirely on why Apple is missing: did she strait up disappear or was she kidnapped. Kidnap victims tend to be viewed by the audience when the rest of the cast cannot.

Yes, but that was over a year ago. This episode is long-awaited beecause of the general perception that Applejack is under-developed and hasn't gotten to really shine.

Looks like stuff's going down. A second Applejack episode has been announced, which I am only too glad for. I find the concept interesting as well, and it looks like it'll be a chance to give Big Macintosh some character development as well.

Also, there's this mystery announcement about season 2.

What the hey? Did I miss something? I thought Hasbro was fine with people passing the episodes around online, have they changed their minds?

Revy, they may see a difference from allowing it on Youtube and letting that kind of archive site exist. Of course, that's a silly distinction, but if it's a distinction Hasbro wants to make... eh.

Confound these plots they drive ponies to drink.

I don't really see the distinction from youtube videos of the show and episodes posted on Ponyarchive, as the problem form Hasbro seems to b being able to download whole episodes from the net. It's really easy to download videos off of YouTube so...what the fuck? Other's reactions

Habsro, a mass entertainment corporation, does not understand that data is data. That there is no difference between it being on ponyarcive or youtube. This is sadly nothing new.

On that note, Habsro has done some rounds over youtube. Several episodes have been disabled this way.

So, no, Habsro is NOT OK with this.

From my understanding many of those videos were disabled by people who pretended to be Representative from Hasbro when they contacted YouTube, but don't quote me just something i heard from a Brony.

Is anyone here willing to fork over the money and buy the DVD's of the show? Though i really like this show i just can't find the want in me to go out and buy them.

Well, i admit that i will most likely not buy the DVD of the show itself, unless it has some good features (such as good commentary), which i find somewhat unlikely.
However, i most likely WILL buy the DVD as a gift for several people. It's what i usually do with books, movies or shows i already have access to (by whatever means) and want to support.

Thoughts as I watch:
-Man, if any pony needed an episode centering on family appreciation its not Apple Bloom. It's Scootaloo. Obviously Ponyville orphanage is not a story anypony wants to tell.
-Granny Smith founded Ponyville? Wasn't it said to hundreds of years old in Winterwrap up?
-Olden Days Celestia still has rainbow hair. Fanon cancelled?
-Holy crap, fewest main cast members ever?
