Post by Shadow6 »

If anyone wants, I can put up an archive of all the images I've posted at full res with properly formatted (artist name and title of the work) filenames. The archive Rabid has posted obviously only has the thumbnails and the links to the original image, most of which are from Deviantart and hence might not work with download managers or the like.

Makkon uploaded this and then my Youtube feed was filled with likes and favourites from all the other brony musicians:

Anyway, I've been busy lately, so these are just some random ones I plucked from my dA favourites on a whim (hence some are reposts):

Dear God, I feared that with all the images this thing is getting a bit crazy in terms of size.

While I was making the file, I've been able to observe than since Shadow6 started his dumps (from page 9 or 10 onward), the charging time for the pages jumped from a few seconds (~10-20 seconds), to a whole minute or more.

If you could all limit your dumps to five or six images-per-post, that'd be okay. If you want to post more images than that, just start a new post.

Problem more lies in the fact that we forget to resize the images to a smaller format or size. Imgurl had this by scaling any image it had to 1 mb. Not all others had it.

I've just found out that photobucket allows you to use thumbnails, so I'll try to use those instead.

I prefer abload.de - yes it's in german, but it let's you upload and transload (i.e. directly from the web) in bulk and even generates the BBCode for you.

This is pre-WWII. You can sort of tell from the sketch style, from thee way it refers to Japan (Japan in the 1950s was still rebuilding from WWII), the spelling of Tokyo, lots of details. Nothing obvious... except that the upper right hand corner of the page reads "November 1931." --- Simon_Jester

I don't speak German. Also, is there a bandwhich/upload limit of any kind?

For now, I think thumbnails should do. It's what I originally wanted to use anyway...

Switching back to Imgur for the moment until I find an image host which a) doesn't kill transparencies in images (as Imgur does), b) actually compresses when resizing (I think this might be incompatible with (a), which might mean I have to download the image and test for transparencies before choosing which host to use) and c) has an API.
