Chapelle's show...

Post by Frank Hipper »

Anybody remember this?

Well, tonight on Chapelle's show, in a very oblique way, it came to pass. :D
The sketch was a sendup of the catholic sex scandals, only using Jedis instead of altar boys. In a press conference, Yoda declared "Tired I am, resign I do."
Funny shit.
But the best was the end, where they interviewed a Trekkie on the street, who said in the nerdiest voice imaginable, "This could never happen in Starfleet, the commanders would..." at which point he was interrupted by a guy in a Darth Maul costume who gave him a wedgie and said...
"YOU CAN"T PROVE THAT"! Ahhh, sweet vindication, of a sort...

That was on tonight?!

Crap. I missed it.

I'm not sure if this is in the sketch, but I think in the trailer he said something to the effect to:

"Lies these accusations are. Over this conference is."

That's the one. The whole damn thing is funny, but that "You can't prove that!" coming from a warsie giving a trekkie a wedgie made me lose it. Hilarious. The Chapelle show's pretty damn good, anyway.

Anyone remember the skit on Conan Obrien way back when Ep 1 came out, it had some really nerdy warsies standing outside camping in line, and a car full of guys dressed in a Klingon outfits drove up and started yelling obscenities in Klingonese. Quite funny.

And for Episode II Triumph the insult comic dog had a guy dressed up as spockrun around and give the movie line the finger.

Who is this Chapelle with the usually shitty show you speak of?

He's got a half-hour stand-up/sketch show on Comedy Central. I've only seen a couple of shows (need sleep for school, and all) but it seemed pretty funny to me.
Don't hate; appreciate!

RIP Eddie.

That is correct, sir. As the song says, "Dave Chapelle's a funny, funny guy..."
And you may ask yourself, 'Where does that highway go to?'
