Basically it's the common anime concept of an All Female Military group. This once just has them all being lesbian Nazi's and somehow due to thier ungodly unkillability, they have kept the war going despite everything.
Since I have owned/possessed just about every kind of comic, and Shep. was on a rant against Manga/anime I knew at least one Manga that Shep would like.
