I need a good Popup Stopper
Anyone know of a good Pop Blocker that has an exclusion function? Popup Stopper kills PM notifications and I don't want that. I don't want here about how I should get a better browser then Internet Explorer. I'm stuck with it on both computers so I want something that'll do the job.
The Requiremnts
1) Exlcusion Function (and if it'll just exclude PM Notification that even better)
2) Free
And if works in/with AOL that's even better as I'm stuck with that at times.

Hmm...
I'd recommend Mozilla, since it works regardless of ISP, but the download is rather ponderous.
You might want to consider Phoenix as an alternative. It's based on Mozilla but is far smaller at about 6 megs.

You can always set Internet Explorer to prompt you before it executes JavaScript. That's my manual workaround; no additional software required. It's just a little tedious...Stormbringer wrote:Dang it, I want a pop up blocker not a new browser, okay?

I had eAnthology for a while, but it was the free version and I deleted it because it wouldn't work sometimes.

I'd imagine. I'd prefer to find a popup blocker that has an exclusion function.Crayz9000 wrote:You can always set Internet Explorer to prompt you before it executes JavaScript. Dude, congratulations. You're completely retarded. I'm going try to beat some sense into your empty head with a shovel. *smash Utvol's head repeatedly with a shovel*NF_Utvol wrote:Hmm

Do you have an address for it? Sounds like it's what I'm looking for.Exonerate wrote:I'm using one called SilverBullet. Google it. It's a little program... Only works for IE though.

Why can't you use both?

I DID have one a while back. It was called 'Pop-Up Stopper', as in, that was the name of the program. This is it right here:
http://download.com.com/3000-2366-10186 ... ag=lst-0-1
All it does is keep any new copies of Internet Explorer from opening unless specifically allowed by the user.

Oh, and on an OT note:
My nick should be NF_UTVol, not Utvol. It should be pronounced U T Vol, as in University of Tennessee Volunteers, and NF being my initials. Could anyone change this? Or is there any way to change my nick?
I had one awhile back, Daemon Block, (Little Devil Icon as well) Automaticly minized or closed depending on your preffence any window that matched any terms in the title bar, Also it allowed you to disalow full screen windows(The Giant Glar in your face and have the button hidden somewhere things)
Worked damn great with over 5,000 Terms it looked for and let you add new ones if any pop-ups did appear but I can't find the bloody thing anymore(This is about a year ago now)

I use Proxomitron to handle this. You can set up a "killfile" list for sites you don't want to recieve from, and I think that setting exclusions is possible, but I haven't needed that.

Proxomitron's good, the only thing that irritates me is it doesn't start automatically with the computer, so I'll reboot, try to log on, and get errors. Just means you have to think. And it's got a cool little Illuminati icon.
