Speed difference

Can someone help me clarify something about the speed difference between ST & SW ships,in ST Voyager the ship was stranded across the galaxy and they say it will take them 70 years to come back at maximum warp,and in SW one small ship like the Jedi fighter can travel a great distance in a matter of hours, so what does it mean.

It means that SW hyperdrive is several orders of magnitude faster than warp drive. Check Wong's website, stardestroyer.net, I think he does an analysis of the speed differences.
