Federation vs Cthulhu

Post by Raxmei »

Federation archaeologists in the South Pacific discover a city sunken beneath the ocean. Being Federation scientists, they raise the city to the surface so they can study it. Little do they know that they have uncovered the lost city of R'lyeh and that they are about to stumble upon the vault of High Priest Cthulhu.

What happens next?

A large portion of the Federation's population throws themselves willingly into C'thulhu's maw just to escape life in the Federation. C'thulhu dies of a severly ruptured stomach. Trek wins, to the dismay of the galaxy.

Cthulu eats everything, if he ruptures his stomach he heals 10-20 minutes later, and resumes munching. Barring intervention by Q or a more powerful entity, the Star Trek universe goes bye-bye.

Option 1: Worship the damned Older One.

Option 2: Bombard it with all sorst of trekkie psuedoscience nonsense, thus warping its mind and causing it to exlode.

How sure are you that technobabble isn't some fiendish creation of the Great Old Ones? Seems like something the Crawling Chaos would dream up to cloud men's minds....

Meh, Cthulhu was put down for the count after getting hit in the head by a whaling ship (IIRC), all the Feds have to do is drop a rock on 'em and put him back to sleep, then send the city right back to the bottom.

1. They open Cthulhu's vault and Cthulhu comes out and eats them.

2. Pretty much everyone on Earth goes nuts.

3. Cthulhu awakens his Star Spawn.

4. Cthulhu takes over Earth with the help of his Star Spawn, Deep Ones, Shoggoths, etc.

5. Everyone on Earth worships Cthulhu.

6. The rest of the galaxy shrugs and goes on with their lives.

No he wasn't. He regenerated afterwards.

Cthulhu was hardly put down for the count.

I have a question about the Deep Ones. Why do they want to have children with humans? Can't they have kids of their own?

Unknown. Little is known of their reproduction.

They appear to have a monstrous lust to mate with humans for whatever reason.

Perhaps they simply like to mate with humans. Who knows?

I always assumed they can reproduce on their own, but you raise a good question.

Perhaps..... then again, if so, the Federation were already worshippers. Heck, just worship the damned thing......

That would explain the glaring inconsistancies in plotting, just a plan to drive us all insane

See, the Federation Cultists have only looked on the Crawling Chaos in a veiled form (scripts for "Voyager".) To look upon the such eldritch horrors in their true shape is to lose one's sanity, becoming a gibbering wreck rather than a man...

...nevermind, I just remembered who I'm talking about. Janeway is probably sacrificing ensigns in front of a C'thulhu statue when no one is looking.

I don't even think this will happen. Cthulhu will notice humanity in the same way a human notices a cockroach; something incredibly lowly that moved in while you were away to be exterminated and never thought of again. Some people my survive simply by hiding and being beneath the Great One Ones notice, but they won't be exactly happy or sane.

Besides, wasn't that a Starspawn?

Yeah, that could happen too.

I'm pretty sure it was Cthulhu, that's what the story said.
