Pentecostals are the idiots that place high value on the so called "gifts of the spirit (Day of Pentecost-book of Acts). These are the retards that do faith healing, speaking in tongues, altar calls at funerals, etc.

Generally, they are people of low economic status and education.

Actually, I've known a few who were quite well-off (one of the ironies of capitalism is that it does not really reward intelligence; it rewards diligence, ambition, and ruthlessness). But their education is generally limited to high-school or if not, it is completely devoid of scientific background.

Just like any faith, Baptists aren't all alike. Individual congregations and sects of Baptism can vary quite a lot on political matters. A couple years ago a campus ministry group I go to once in a while had a Baptist assistant minister from an "Open and Affirming" (ie "Gay folks don't go to hell") congregation. So a few are pretty progressive.

I guess that "Conservative Baptists" are just people who want to emphatically distance themselves from the infidels claiming to be Baptists or some such.
