That's good. It's also nice that they are not forcing the use, so companies like MS won't complain as much about being "discriminated".

That cost factor is really the ace in the hole. These people are starting to wake up to the fact that they don't have to pay tens of thousands of dollars in licensing for their software.

It saves taxpayer money and tells Microsoft where to shove the liscensing fees for their shitty products. What's not to like? By the way, did you catch those few lines about how Microsoft was threatening school districts with software audits, and the districts responded by switching to Linux? No wonder they're trying to use the legal system to stop open source--their entire bloated, wasteful business model could come crashing down around their ears before too long if this keeps up.

A few bought congressscum and a few million dollars in bribes to Oregon will fix this in Microsoft's favor. Trust me.
